For Christmas I dug out my old HO trains from my youth to setup around the Christmas Tree. Unfortunately, they all needed service due to the lack of use. As I had some Durango and Silverton train cars from my visit there 20 years ago, I decided to go with this set. I am very pleased. The engine runs much quieter than my old trains and the couplers seem more reliable than the old style. I've run the train for hours with no issues at all. Very pleased with the purchase.

As a side note, the controller seems to have much more power than my 20 year old controllers. My old trains (now serviced) seem to run better with this controller than my older ones.

This train worked perfectly. I have wanted a model train for many years. It was worth the money.

I bought this as a birthday present for someone. It never worked and was broken right out of the box. What a huge disappointment to give a broken gift to someone. They spent hours trying to get it working and the manufacturer had no solution. I should have read the reviews more carefully. I hope no one has to go through this so buyer beware!

the E-Z track that came with the set up with easy but was harder to put together than i thought. the passenger cars are easy to put on the track however, it is a bit difficult to put the big train on the tracks because of its size and weight.

i only gave this train set a 2 star review instead of a 4 or 5 star review is because the train stopped working after one hour of use. i i sent it to the manufacturer for repair. now i just have to wait for them to fix it and send it back in great working condition.

i might end up putting this train in a display case once i get it back since it stopped working on me and i do not want that to happen again.

because of this issue, i would suggest buying an extra train or two to use for if something goes wrong. and having a secondary smaller train would be good for use in setting up the track.

Awesome set but front of tender needs weight to stop derailing other than that it runs slowly without hesitation and once I weighted the tender with 4 quarters it will run smoothly at full throttle :-) when I open up the tender to install a decoder I will add some lead or steel ballast to it!
