Best way to season humidor

Best way to season a humidor. I bought a quality humidor with a certified seal and it only took a few days to season with these packs. All Boveda packs are excellent. But if you have a modern, quality humidor you won't need 72% after you season. Cheap humidors leak air so 72% packs are necessary to hold humidity in mid or upper 60's for cigars. I prefer 68% packs in New England where humidity changes a lot over the year. If it's humid year round in your area then 62% is best. If you're planning on an air tight humidor then 62% is best, just like the cheeba-cheeba smokers prefer for the green.
Ditch the cheap sponges

These should be a no brainer add to any humidor. I have a 50 count and it's within 1% of 72. I've had a single pack in mine for almost a month and it hasn't shown any sign of deterioration. This is WAY easier than dealing with the cheap sponges. I foresee many more of these coming in my future!

I purchased this item to put into the humidor I bought my husband for our anniversary. After using PH solutions and all types of DIY ideas, I figured I'd help him take the guess work out of the humidor balance. He's in heaven and his humidor is happy! My humidor was woefully under humidity. Two of these packs for a week got it close enough that my other methods of maintenance were able to take over the brunt of the lifting. Unfortunately, some soapy water spilled on the spent packs before I could rehydrate the spent packs, so no idea how many times you can charge and discharge these before they get wonky.

It does what it is supposed to do, I can't really say much more than that. It has been the easiest way to keep my cigars at the proper level of humidity. I was always screwing around with the gel jars, or refilling the distilled water trays...etc. This by far is the easiest and the best way to keep the humidity level constant.
