Boston Gear GP1632Y Miter Gear, 0.500" Bore, 1:1 Ratio, 20 degree Pressure Angle, 16 Pitch, 32 Teeth, Molded Nylon

Key features
- •Straight miter 90 degree mesh transmits mechanical power between perpendicular shafts
- •Pressure angle of 20 degrees for a lower contact ratio between gears, resulting in higher load capacity than smaller pressure angles
- •Molded polyoxymethylene for quiet operation, low friction and moisture absorption, and high resistance to heat and abrasion combined with the corrosion resistance, ductility at high temperatures, and low magnetic permeability of brass
- •Unhardened teeth for 1:1 gear ratio applications where hardness and strength are not needed to transmit torque and motion

As advertised used to repair an expensive power fed belt sander that company said parts were not available for!
Not as good as the price I paid for the pair

I used these to increase the size of a drill press table and be able to raise and lower that table from the front of the drill press instead of having to have access to the back to raise and lower it. The pair of miter gears work fine for the lowering but do not do well for the raising of it. I don't think it's the weight since the total weight of the table is only 8 lbs. and works on a toothed worm gear. getting the two miters to mesh without hanging up was a big problem and took me the better part of a day and three different attempts at the mounting blocks. I will either wind up finding some in metal instead of plastic or make some out of hardwood on the scroll saw and see if that solves the problem with raising the table without it binding the gears. At over $16.00 each I expected them to work better than this.
Strong, high quality, durable miter gears. You won't regret it.

These are some heavy duty molded plastic gears. I'm using them to redirect the height adjustment on my drill press table and they are working very well. Fantastic quality.
