These cutters are great for crafter's they cutter a clip of the back of pin.
For small wire only

I also read that these would cut 16 gauge steel wire with ease. I used them on 16 gauge, they didn't cut well & now they're junk because they're gouged. I too will spend the $ & invest in better cutters. I am returning these!

Very nice nippers and they seem to cut the jewelry wire neatly.
Good for light duty only.

Good for cutting small gauge wire only. I read somewhere that these pliers would cut 16 gauge steel wire with ease. It took a slight effort, but they did cut 16 gauge steel wire. I tried cutting some other wire that was in a tight spot with the tips of these cutters and the tips bent out of shape. The tips are now worthless. I will now use these cutters as my junk cutters since they aren't useful for much else. I should have gone with my first instinct and spent the extra money to get heavy duty cutters. I have since purchased those and they were a much better investment. If you are looking for a pair of cutters you can put through the wringer look elsewhere.
