No fleas or ticks

We live in a rural area along a river and a herd of black tail deer are often in the yard. So, I know we have ticks in the yard. Our cat is indoor/outdoor, so it is important for her to not bring fleas or TICKS into the house. In 3 years of using this product, the cat has never had fleas or ticks (not even on her paws). We are on a regular schedule and it is completely worth the money.

I buy these repeatedly and they always come well packaged and promptly. I usually buy the 6 dose box and if this seller runs out before sending it, they'll send a 2 dose and 4 dose box which is perfectly fine. This is my new (2 years now) vet's top recommendation for cats. Please also note vets do recommend treatment year round, because fleas and mites aren't just warm weather problems and they're absolutely right. Of course she hates it and we have to deal with the wet neck for a few hours, but it's very effective. She never has fleas, flies, or mosquitoes bothering her. She's been on this medication for about 7 years now and has only had a reaction to 1 dose, which I believe was caused by a rare bad dose or interaction with something on her neck like a dirt particle or pollen spore or something. She's indoor and clean, but they do get tiny particles in their fur just like we do on our skin.
I would also like to add that we ended up with super fleas (immune to most treatments) and we spent the better part of a year finding a good medication for her and eradicating them from our home and property. I'm allergic to flea collars and they aren't as effective as drops. Most drops weren't effective against the super fleas and my cat has sensitive skin and had poor reactions to 3 that we tried. Some left her neck wet for a few days. One actually left a 3rd degree chemical burn on her neck! We tried this one and had such great results we've stuck with it since. About 7 years now.
The fleas fled

We have 8 cats and this time of year, late summer, is the time when we usually notice flea infestations. With 8 cats and some of them spending time outdoors, flea preventions are not just something that might happen, it always does.

Some of our cats don't seem to be bothered by the fleas. I flea comb them daily and that helps. We try to avoid chemical treatments if we can but when a cat is having really severe reactions to fleas like chewing themselves raw in an almost allergic response we do resort to applying this medication. One cat in particular, an older male, has severe reactions to flea bites. Usually around mid July he'll start gnawing on the area near the base of his tail where those little buggers are tormenting him. He can chew himself raw. He was doing that again so I applied this flea treatment. Within 24 hours he stopped chewing on himself and a flea combing showed he was flea free. We'll apply more in a month. We have used this same treatment on him before and there were no adverse reactions. This last time was different. I applied it to the usual area, at the base of his neck, where he cannot lick it or touch it. When I checked him 24 hours later I was astonished to observe that the spot where I had applied this liquid was now a bare spot in the shape of a small circle. He has black fur so it is quite noticeable. The hair was now gone there. It was not like that when I applied it. I have never noted this occurring previously. I assume that hair will grow back. Weird.

This chemical works. Not sure how I feel about it removing his hair though?
Great value, much cheaper than buying it at pet stores

The product is well packaged in foil. You need to read the directions. I have been using a scissors to cut the top off the tube. It is hard to hold the cat and try to snip off the top at the same time. Apparently, the cap can be reversed to break off the top of the tube. I have 2 cats that are different weights. The package is labeled for large and small cat but I need to be careful because the boxes are basically the same size and color and the product containers also look alike. It would be better if the containers were marked differently so they could not get mixed up. It is hard to catch the cats every month because they don't like how it feels (wet) when I put it on. But it is better than being bitten by fleas.
Does the Job

Works well when used as directed - Instructions are clear and describe important information, and it is necessary to read it all for the safety of your cat. Retreating is often necessary at the directed intervals (once a month) to fully eradicate your cat of the flea; keep up on vacuuming and spraying your house as well, and your flea problem will be solved within a few months. Overall a quality product.
