I agree with Emil on this review---this stuff is absolutely HORRIBLE!!! Don't you folks ever taste what you make !?? By far the worst tasting jerky ever. It had so much salt in it I had to spit it out and that was right after almost chipping my teeth trying to chew it. It was hard as a rock. There was also so much liquid smoke flavoring in it it was impossible to tell if it was beef or a rubber boot or an old leather shoe. Anyway - don't waste your money on this. At least Amazon gave me a refund.

This is "beef jerky" was so unbelievably awful that it prompted me to write my first and only amazon review. It is literally a vacuum sealed hardened ball of leather. Still, I went against my better judgement and decided to taste it despite the texture (how could all of these amazon reviews be wrong, right?)... After managing to peel off a small piece from the blob it felt like I had stuck a solid piece of salt in my mouth. The texture and flavor that seeped past the overwhelming amount of salt was so repulsive I had to spit it out.
I don't understand how this vile leather possibly has so many good reviews. Was I shipped a spoiled batch? Is there no quality control?...
