I'm pleased to say that so far, so good. I recently bought a lot of new maternity clothes and I was concerned they would look faded and fuzzy way before I would switch back to my normal clothes. I've been washing on the cold setting, a low spin, and hanging most to dry. I'm pleased with the results. I'm sure being mindful of how I wash and dry matters but I know this detergent is gentle but effective, too, so my efforts aren't in vain.
Does a very good job cleaning our clothes, only time will show if it truly prevents fading.

Didn't give this product 5 stars at this time only because we haven't used it for a long enough time to judge if it truly prevents our denim clothes (i.e., "jeans") from fading from being washed.
In the meantime, our clothes - mostly jeans - washed with it have come out as well cleaned as with our previous detergent.
