Interesting product. Used last burning season but haven't cleaned the flue yet. We did notice that the build up soot on the glass was less & lighter or would also disappear (warmer fire and dry wood). So we are thinking that it has likely helped in the flue also. Very easy to use just don't spill it on lighter stone/concrete surfaces (says this on label), as it causes a charcoal smudge looking dark spot (even with rather quick clean up and following their directions - didn't let that happen again).

I do not know where all the high ratings come from, but I wouldn't recommend using this product. I have been using and cutting fire wood for 40 + years. I am now burning Doug Fir with two plus years seasoned wood. I know it is very dry. Started using this product only to have soft runny tarry creosote building up really fast. Had to flu fires Within two weeks. Cleaned pipe and stove. Took doors off and clean all hard and soft tar off of doors, took a long time. Sprayed the inside and would again. After about 4 hours of a fire both doors and the inside of stove was all tarred up again. Will not use it ever again. The creosote logs work better than anything but not perfect.
