I was skeptical at first but this is actually some good thick durable heat shield. I got .5" but its actually more like 3/4. Its basically just good thick fiberglass with nice thick aluminum foil. It can almost hold its own shape and you can mold it around things. I used it to insulate a car firewall and used spray adhesive to hold it to the wall.
