Terrible Coffee!! What Happened??

I bought the 4-pack of Maxwell House sugar free Suisse Mocha coffee in January 2017 and would have easily given it a five star rating, it was that good. So I reordered it in June, and I don't know what they did in the meantime, but this clearly is not the same as the coffee I received in January. The artificial sweetener taste is funky...like the sweetener went bad. Or something did. It's terrible, and almost has a rancid taste. I won't be ordering it again.

I normally drink the regular version of the French Vanilla flavor and was excited to see a sugar-free, decaf version. Boy was I disappointed. If you follow the instructions, you end up with a very mild flavor. If you increase the amount of product you use per cup then it has a strong artificially sweet overpowering flavor to it. I've tried adding additional instant decaf to it and that doesn't seem to help get rid of the chemical sweetener taste. I had originally signed up for a subscribe and save order of this product but will be donating the other three canisters. I'll stick with the regular version or go without.

The coffee at my office tends to be pretty weak so I make sure I always have a supply of this in my desk. I add a couple teaspoons to my coffee at work to make it a little stronger and much more flavorful. It's the only way I can drink that coffee! This is also great to make as a hot beverage by itself. You can either heat water or milk and add an appropriate amount of the mix and it makes a great beverage for the morning or on cold days. Highly recommended... Hazelnut is my favorite.

Bought these for an elderly neighbor that has to have sugar free. She loves it and goes through a lot! She couldn't find it in the stores. My husband was curious and tried it himself and did not like the taste at all 🤑 But I gave it 5 stars because my neighbor loves it. Taste is so subjective. If you're use to eating or drinking sugar free then maybe you will love this.

I am an admitted Starbucks freak, but when I travel, I always have coffee tea bag style singles on hand, with a Maxwell House International canned coffee to use as creamer. Admittedly, I dislike powdered creamer, but this coffee serves as a good substitute for milk. There are some spots in the world that don't have a coffee shop on every corner, and divers get up early. It's not as strong as my usual fare, but it works, and well. My advice is that you place it in your carry on luggage, as opposed to your suitcase, unopened of course.
