DC was ordered 11/26/17, direct ship from JPW Industries in TN (aka Powermatic) 11/28/17 and delivered by Southeastern Freight Lines on 12/1/17. (Delivery arrangement with Southeastern Freight was a pleasant experience in providing a 1 1/2 hour delivery window. The driver Very accommodating in offering to remove the unit from the pallet and move the unit down the driveway to my home.) EXCELLENT delivery service of a 180 pound item. No external or internal damage. Instructions were detailed to allow assembly without difficulty by one elderly person. However, the the motor/blower assembly is heavy and requires some planning to minimize heavy lifting. All hardware was included with only 1 very minor issue, the hardware pack included a 3/16" 1/2" pan head screw that I was not able to identify in the hardware inventory list or determine where it should be inserted in the unit. The unit is powerful from the 4" ducts and works fine. The remote, as others commented requires direct line of site to operate the DC. I do not view this as an issue with the arrangement the power tools in my shop area. This is my 1st Powermatic tool and specifically decided to spend the extra cost for a quality unit to minimize dust in the shop area. The 30 micron bag was replaced with a Big Horn 1 micron bag purchased from Amazon.

We have had this same model dust collector for the shop for about 10 years. We needed a second dust collector to handle our growing needs for the shop. So it was an easy choice as to which dust collector to purchase. We have been very happy with the product. The cloth bags make lifting and disposing of dust easy. I would highly recommend this product for and size wood working shop.

I recently moved my shop from the garage (which it shared with cars, lawnmowers etc) to my basement. The new space is large, bright and dedicated to my tools. My main concern was keeping dust from making its way into the house and the rest of the basement. In the garage I could open the doors and blow the dust out with a leaf blower, but it always was a mess. After reading many reviews and articles about the "ideal shop" I purchased the PM1300TX-BK and the Powermatic PM1200 1791330 Air Filtration System. The two units working together have done a fantastic job keeping the dust to a minimum. I have each on dedicated 110v 20amp circuits. I bought several 10' lengths of clear 4" hose with quick couplings. I only use one tool at a time and changing hose connections takes only a second. There is still some sweeping up to be done, but not like it used to be.
A couple of notes on the dust collector: I have no problem with the 30 micron bag provided (as a few reviewers did) since the air filtration system takes care of the fine particles. It is fairly loud, though not as loud as my shop-vac and at a lower pitch. But when using it for quite a while, with saws running I do wear ear protection. One minor issue is the remote control. While I'm glad it has one, you have to get right in front of the unit and not more than 6 feet away for it to work. This wouldn't bother me so much if the air filtration unit's remote wasn't so much better. That one works pointed in any direction from greater distances. Same company - two totally different remotes (?????).
All in all, very happy with both machines. And my "ideal shop" too.
