Does The Job

This product was quite a bit cheaper than most of the other u-locks I looked at on Amazon, but it turned out to be an excellent deal. The Club utility lock is pretty much the perfect size for my mountain bike. I was worried that perhaps the smaller of the two sizes was not going to be sufficient, but it secures the frame of my bike just fine without needing to extend it to its full 11.5".
I can't say as I live in a high crime area, so just the appearance of The Club is impressive enough to make someone move on to look for an easier target. Even so, it definitely holds its own. It is actually fairly heavy to carry around, but the trade-off of a solid lock is well-worth carrying a few extra ounces along with me.
I've been using it for a little over a week now and am definitely happy with my purchase. I could have easily spent 3-4x more money on a u-lock but I'm glad that I didn't. It seems rather ridiculous to me to pay $60-$80 for a lock to secure a bike that paid less than $100 for. This product was a lot cheaper and I have no regrets thus far.

... bought this lock because I thought it would be better than my old U-lock

I bought this lock because I thought it would be better than my old U-lock. It's ok. It's fairly big. I have to slip it over my shoulder when I ride or put it in my bike basket because there's really nowhere else to put it. Also I have only had it a few months and it already has rusting inside the lock. If you do not have to worry about wet weather, than this bike lock might be for you. I do like the security of it, though. It is large enough not to cause too much of a hassle at bike corrals.
this little but tough lock saved my wife's bike, ...

this little but tough lock saved my wife's bike, unfortunately mine has been stolen since I used a cheaper lock for it.
Check out for the marks from the cutter, a thief was trying for some time but left only with my bike ... so, will probably go for another one when i buy a new bike

Works perfect for my uses, but could be better

These are great! I bought two to lock up my mountain bike in my garage. Both have a different key, which was nice to see that not all of a stock have the same key (added security). The yellow plasticy/rubbery coating on these protect the finish of my bike from scratching, which was a selling point for me. The shape of these as a rectangle make them a bit hard to finagle around my bike and the metal shelf I am locking it to, but I get it to work. Only 4*s because a piece of metal on the shelf I lock my bike to managed to cut through the yellow rubbery coating and cause like a yellow flap of rubber. A freak thing to have happen, but I would have liked a tougher yellow"‹ outer rubber coating. The black part that covers the expandable portion can stretch or shrink to fit how you are using it. However, this lock does not protect itself well from the elements (wind, snow, water) so I would NOT recommend using it outside as I fear it could rust shut based on its construction.
Heavy duty lock, but came beat up
Jonathan✓ Verified Purchase•August 15, 2015
If nothing else this lock truly looks like it will protect your stuff. It is huge and heavy, which is a deterrent to thieves, but a burden to carry around while riding. My lock came in the mail kind of beat up, but that's acceptable since I'll be using it outside anyway. I was looking for a heavy duty lock and I'm satisfied with this one. I'm using it as a U-Lock for my new bike.
