Sounds like a tin can. In the lodge it opened up a nice sound once, but after that the drum couldn't handle and eventually became useless, gave it away, maybe someone else could bring the life into it. Good for decoration as it looks beautiful.

Each drum has it's own unique beauty. Tradional Native American Indian craftsmanship. Gave it a "5" but the box arrived damaged...drum was not. I ordered a 2nd one for a friend that was packaged in accordance with usps standards.
