The Zooka rocks! We use it for little league batting, fielding, catching and fly ball practices. For the younger players, to reduce the injury factor, we use pressureless tennis balls for batting and fly ball drills. With tennis balls, the pitching pattern is a wider than with baseballs but it's still far superior to what most "coach pitches" look like. Dimple balls deliver the tightest pattern. The machine is easy to set-up, calibrate and operate and the kids love it. We also make good use of the auto feeder when panning the gun around the infield for grounder drills or for quick batting warm ups. It performs excellently as a tennis ball machine as well (with the auto feeder). This machine is the best thing to happen in youth baseball since the webbed glove!

Great for infield and outfield practice. Takes a little more work for batting practice. Overall, better than wheel-operated models. I especially like the portability of being battery-operated. The unit is much lighter than wheel-operated models and much easier to set-up. I am expecting to use this for a long time.

Best way to do outfield drills

We got this for outfield drills for our team and we love it. It's a better way to position the kids and see how they track the ball - consistently. I found that we lost a lot of time/reps when one of the coaches tried to hit fly balls. Now, it's a very efficient drill.
Great pitching machine

This pitching machine works great. I use it for a 35ft backyard pitching cage. The lights and audible beeps alert the batter to when the pitch is coming. Every once in a while, it throws an off speed pitch, but that is not a bad thing for kids learning to hit. The speed settings are easy to set, and it is nice to see the mph speed after each pitch. I use dimpled balls and the machine is very consistent.
I also used this at a field to practice pop ups with my kids. This machine can shoot baseballs as high as you want.
Also, the manufacturer has great customer service. The second day we used it my son hit a shot right back to the machine and cracked the piece that holds the optical sensor. I called up the manufacturer and they sent me a replacement piece with instructions to fix it. I got the replacement within two days and the machine works great.
