Five Stars

Easy to use and sturdy.
make floors slippery
catterson•December 1, 2015
I got these for my son to play on since I have hardwood floors, but I can't even use them. They have some sort of oily coating on them that leaves my floors incredibly slippery. Even after mopping the floor several times it's still very slippery where I was using the mats. I washed the mats before use and washed them again after use, but nothing works. I gave then two stars because they are probably fine if you use them on carpet.
Thick mat perfect for babies learning head control and learning to crawl/walk
ChaseDis600RR•July 18, 2015
Bright colors and thick enough to cushion baby's head as he learned to lift his head up and now as he stumbles while learning to walk. Sometimes he falls on his butt and then straight back hitting his head on the mat and he just laughs it off. (He's done the same on the rug beneath it that sits on ceramic tile and he'll cry... LOUD.)
You can't alternate sides to link a color to a black side, I guess the way it's cut. I wish it came with 9 instead of 8 but that's just specific to the space we use it for. It comes with edges so it looks nice and straight, but my 10 month old son's goal in life is to lift up all the edges and throw them around. I'm always putting them back at the end of the day but it's pointless.
Knocked off one star because although I love everything about it, the plain black version was about 12 bucks at the big box store.

Bright, thick, colorful flooring for a kid's room!

I just wish these weren't so darned expensive!!
We use the bright colors side up for our boys' bedroom floor over brick for safety and comfort. They are nice and thick and very cute. Cost a pretty penny to do their whole room, but this was the most economical way I found. We used 5 packs and have some pieces left in case we need replacements. Including all the edging is a huge plus!

A Thick, Attractive (not hideous!) baby play mat!
Rachel Taliaferro•June 7, 2015
I flipped these to the charcoal side- using for a baby playmat. This is a large mat- I didn't even use two of the blocks, and it covers a large area of my living room. They are thick, too! No chemical smell. Great, subtle texture design. I love that they came with borders too- can't stand the look of those raw, notched ends without them. In my living room lighting, the charcoal color almost has a dove gray or brown tone- which goes really nicely with my dark wood furniture and hardwood floors. Nice to finally find a baby mat that isn't hideous and gaudy! I bought another one from Tadpoles, but it was too small and I didn't like the two-tone pattern. I live in a small New York apartment, so the baby's space is my space too! Recommended.
