This wire has worked very well for my craft project. It is soft but not dead soft which is why some people have problems with kinking. to help with kinking spool out the amount of line you need and run your finger down the length of wire before use.

Quality was good. Easy to work with and spools on real well. Just be careful not to kink it. Not real forgiving like most copper lines.

Lets start this by saying that I found the right crimp connectors for the 45lb version of this line. Mini Copper Double Barrel Crimp Sleeves 1.0mm x 7mm - 100 pieces I also used these wire thimbles as strain relief on the crimped in loops. Billfisher PTH-50 Thimbles Fishing Swivels

I ordered this line to make lightweight, nearly invisible HAM Radio HF (High Frequency) antennas. While it is challenging to work with, it does indeed do the job at a reasonable price. (I ordered the 600ft, 45lb version)

Pros:
- Reasonable price compared to other antenna-specific wire
- Thin and nearly invisible
- Light weight for those who want a portable pack antenna for field use
- Strong enough to hold up a reasonable length of RG-8x feed cable and a light center connector/balun for up to a 20m free hanging antenna. I think it will work for a 40m antenna too, but I have not been able to test it properly.
- Perfect stealth wire for most HF applications if you can support the center
- You have the joy of improvising
- You can brag that you've made contacts using fishing line as an antenna. :-)

Cons:
- It will kink up badly if you don't pay attention to coils and tension
- Likes to coil up when you release tension
- Not sure if it is strong enough to make a free hanging dipole for anything over 20m.

I originally bought this to reload a pair of camping clothesline reels with. You just unspool enough wire to work on your desired frequency and have at it. I got sidetracked into making frequency specific pre-cut antenna sections instead. I hope I get back to my original plan before I use up the entire spool!

Multi strand wire is the best to use when fishing for fish with teeth such as kingfish. Multi strand is easy to tie with the figure eight knot and resist breaking due to multiple strands. AFW wire is great and highly recommend
