It was kind of a pain since we were not mounting it on a garage wall or roof, we had an existing pole. I purchased the mounting kit as recommended from another review, but ended up not needing it. The mounting kit was a pain in the ass and the instructions were not helpful, plus what the site said I needed w the backboard I purchased, was the wrong kit to begin with.

I waited 6 months after i installed this to rate the backboard. I wanted to see how it would hold up in the weather. I replace an existing back board that was beginning to fall apart. This Lifetime backboard worked great, easily replaced the old one, has held up over the winter and looks great. Painted the old pole and the whole thing looks new.
