I'm not sure why this thing is getting negative reviews. I would assume if you bought one you would have watched a couple videos demonstrating what it is actually used for. Maybe the one on the product page? If you did, you would see that it works very well. Not only as a pressure point device, but as a way to simply open handed slap or block attacks. It can be used on any bony part of the body with great success. Don't believe it, I dare you to take a love tap to the head, hand, wrist, shin, just about anywhere on the face, elbow, etc... when you're done screaming and wincing come back tell us what a piece of junk it is.
Slide one on a finger of each hand when you feel like you are about to need a little physical help.

They do just what the description says it will do. When applied forcefully to a point on the body you feel sever sharp pain. I bought all the green ones (3) they had in stock but receive 3 black but I was in no way disappointed. I did do a little modification to mine. I colored each of them with a GOLD Sharpie permanent marker. The color has held up excellently and blends in with my flesh better than green or black. I really like this product! I work in a dangerous area and I cannot carry a gun so the Griffin grip is perfect to help give me an edge against an attacker in addition to my other self defence weapons. I love how small and unobtrusive it is and slips relatively unnoticed wherever I'm at! The reason I gave it four stars is because I believe the Griffin could be improved by providing a version with a wider strap and a version in clear plastic to be even more comfortable and stealthy. I'm sure there are difficulties in my suggestions and so I provide them with a grain of salt. Really though, I'm happy with my purchase and highly recommend a Griffin Grip to add to your arsenal!

I really think this is a decent product. I read a lot of the reviews, and honestly I feel that you will get more out of this product if you understand come-alongs, compliance, pressure points, etc. Sure it will still work if you just slap with it but that's NOT really what the design is for. The strap sucks, wish they would redesign that. I had to mod it with a piece of elastic band.
