Sometimes pee spills through the middle joint

Worked great with helping to potty train my puppy. Have had it for a little over 3 months and it still in great shape. The "grass" can have a urine smell if you don't clean it properly and don't change the pee pad often enough. Twice a week I change the pee-pad and once a week I soak the "grass" and grates in bleach, baking soda, peroxide and mouthwash. Takes the smell right out!! And contrary to what some people think, you can successfully train your dog to use the pad and go outside. My pup does both. If we're not home he will whimper at the door to go outside and if the Spotty is being cleaned he will also alert me to go outside.

I like this Spotty Potty very much. It's clean, neat, there is no odor, and it fits on our apartment balcony perfectly.
This is much better than anything else I've seen except for real grass, but that gets very expensive and messy and doesn't last more than a few days. Our Chihuahua is taking his time getting used to it so I put a hand towel down for now, so he gets the scent. I would recommend this product.

We had the original Spotty Training place but our snap in trays had finally died. We bought this as the replacement. The grass is better than the original and works great. Our two dogs use it so much that we are saving money on our pee mats. We bought really big ones that are super absorbent from Fosters and Smith. We just cut one mat in half and put a full mat on the opposite side. This means we get more time in between changing out the mats. The original mats aren't bad but we're just used to thicker ones that can stay down longer. We rinse the grass out and the trays and put it right back down. We just recently bought the spare grass so we can rinse and switch them out easier. Oh, this grass doesn't smell up a storm like the fake plush grasses that are out there. We'd bleach those but they would still stink. This one doesn't have that issue. We did use a puppy trainer spray initially for the new dog to get used to it and now within two months this is the favorite mat used by both our dogs. Poop is easy to pick up and just put down the toilet. We definitely will buy and replace this product. I'd recommend KOE spray to get rid of any smell if you seem to sense anything. It's great for knocking out the scent left by accidents and had helped us in cleaning the trays and mats.

Very happy with this tray. My GR tends to have wet paws after peeing on his old tray as the pee couldn't drain fast enough; and he didn't really like using the tray because he didn't like to get his paws washed after he peed. With this new tray, within 24 hours he already used it twice. He look very pleased when we praised him after he used it. So after, after the pad collected 2 pees, it still does not stink despite the very hot weather.
