Excellent Customer Service & Product
Ozark!•April 13, 2015
My original feedback stated I was short one slide out of 200. Contacted by AmScope & missing slide replaced. Excellent customer service. Excellent product. All arrived in excellent condition. Both boxes come with print out of slide identifcation. Yes, I would recommend.
Slides are decent, but packaging and QC are lacking.

Although the slide specimens are what I would call lower institutional quality, the box and quality control were lacking.
All slides were quite dirty with fingerprints and some kind of haze, so you would need to dean each slide before use.
More importantly, one of the boxes was defective. There is a center piece which is responsible for holding both rows of slides. It was assembled with it too close to one row of slides, so that those slides had to be squeezed in, while the other row was too wide, so the slides could slide out of the grooves. When the box arrived, the slides in that row had come out of the grooves, and were in disarray.
I understand that defects happen, but even the least amount of quality control should have caught this. The person packing the slides (I have to imagine AmScope is not a large enough company to have automated packing) should have noticed this right away and simply discarded the box and used one that was not defective. Still, I am willing to exchange the slides, because they are decent and a good value. I am not one to give one star for what may have been a fluke, but 3 stars seems like a proper rating due to lack of QC.

the specimens appear fine. However

Organization: The slides are labeled, but not numbered. Also, some scientific names are unknown to me - I will have to look them up. They are not in ABC order, nor in any order I can identify. There were mosquito slides in 3 different places, rather than together. Quality: When viewed with a lower power magnifier, the specimens appear fine. However, when viewed under a "real" microscope, I agree with other reviewers who say the slides appear dirty. But with some fine focusing, you can get past this. One reviewer said that some slides appeared blank. The pea pollen slide is deceptive - to the naked eye it does appear empty, but upon viewing with magnifier, there is indeed stained pea pollen.
Lots of good slides, all out of order and really dirty.

The slides appear to be well mounted and easy to see, but I had to clean them ALL off when I received them today. The good news? if I wanted to find out who packaged them in such crappy condition I always have their fingerprints since they were on EVERY SLIDE. And WAY out of order... Can't quite understand why plant and animal and Protista were all mixed together in any old order... I would have thought one box would have been plant, the other animal... Going to take a while to organize and label where I want them.
All griping aside? They were really well mounted and labeled. Aside from the clean-up, I do feel I got what I paid for out of them without having to mount my own slides.

Everything I hoped for and more

These are neat slides. I am very impressed. I purchased these for my middle school science classes, along with the set of 100 by the same company. All 300 slides are different. They cover every area that my students might need to see, including plant parts, plant cells, animal parts, animal cells, all four tissue types, different systems, and organisms.
The case is durable, and numbered to keep the slides organized. This is a great product!
