Amazon CustomerSeptember 18, 2016
My son uses crutches daily, he is an amputee. I used to buy tips weekly, from CVS and other medical supply stores. Finally someone recommend these and they lasted approx 10montgs! We were amazed! We will continue to buy!!!
Durability Checks Out, Sizing No Problem
Leo VolontJuly 10, 2016
I remember back -- it was just a few months ago, after 10 years my faithful Drug Store Generic Wooden Cane (which I stripped and refinished myself), its Cane Tip was finally noticeably wearing down... the grooves were almost gone. So I decided to spend 10 minutes ordering a new Cane Tip from Amazon. It was closer to two Hours. I sat aghast while reading the Reviews -- I think EVERY Cane Tip I encountered did horribly for durability, with some tips lasting a whole month but a few cane tips actually falling apart in the first day. So Here It Is again --The catastrophic mix of unscrupulously greedy Western Entrepreneurs with Chinese Manufacturers who cut any specification corner to increase the margin of profit on their impossibly low production bids .. we, the Consumers are getting just pure junk which is half the time broken coming straight out of the box. So, what was I going to do? I needed a Cane Tip, but it seemed ridiculous that I had to do something like buy a Pack of 8 Cane Tips to replace a cane tip that had lasted ten years, and with the possibility that I would need another 8 within 6 months!

But several reviewers referred to the their old "Tornados" as what they should have bought. Well, WHAT is a Tornado, that is, in regards to cane tips. So I Searched it up. Apparently you did too.

My two concerns before buying the Torando were that the Tornado Tip would cost more than my Cane did. But I apparently had no choice there. My other concern was the sort of One Size Fits All scheme that Tornado has. I think my cane tip is a 7/8". Well, the Tornado fit on just fine. Of course I used a bit of finesse. When I was a kid I learned to always rub 'spit' on anything for lubrication if I needed to fit it into something snug. I'm a dignified old man now, so I use soapy water or olive oil to do the same trick (or if nobody is looking... I rub spit on it...)

Oh, by the way,. the Tornados are Huge, compared to regular cane tips. they stand taller, so I had to saw about an inch off my cane. and they are wider at the bottom. It give the cane some heft it never had before... not so much to be burdensome, but enough so that one can swing the cane a bit and knock something flying. Oh, and its size and shape help in another way... if you drop your cane, you can use your foot to step on the tornado cane tip in such a way as to leverage the cane up to where you can easily reach hold of it.... it looks like the cane is Levitating!

Oh, a friend of mine took one look at the new tip and instantly figured that the Cane could Stand Up on its own with it...and while I was incredulous, well, he stood it up!

And It Is Durable. I waited close to 40 days to do a Review, in order to verify the claims of Durability. It took That Long to make it look like it was not Brand New Anymore. At the heal, where I dig in on long reaches, finally there is just the slightest hint of an abrasive scuff. Yes, this thing will last years! And i guess I had to order two for some reason.... Oh, some people order them for Crutches. The Second Tornado Tip, still in the box, will probably be a great bargain for somebody at my Estate Sale, as I hardly suspect I will outlive the One I put on my Cane.
... these for a month now and they are still like new!

I have had these for a month now and they are still like new!!! Incredible. I have done 2 5K's with them on, so they are well worth the money.
Worth The Cost

I wish I had these sooner. I have a shoulder issue as well as having had 4 ankle surgeries and needing surgery on the opposite ankle. I use a knee scooter when I have been non weight bearing, but have to use crutches when I am become partial weight bearing. After the third surgery I had so many problems using crutches because of my shoulder and other ankle. I was unstable and fell a few times which did not help matters. When I found out I needed another surgery on the same ankle I was worried about having to use crutches again. I was looking for something to help keep the crutches stable and reduce shock. I found these tips and decided to give them a try and I am glad I did. These tips keep in contact with the floor longer then standard tips and I have had no problems with slipping. The added bonus has been how my shoulder has not been as problematic.
These are great. Much better than the $5 ones you get ...

These are great. Much better than the $5 ones you get at a drug store, that only last a month at best. These are a bigger diameter, more surface on the ground, grip very well, even on wet floors. When these wear out, I will definitely get another pair like it.
