I'm a field Service Technician and I needed a quality key holder for all of my trips. Although it was a bit expensive, I'm glad I purchased this. The quality of the metal is very good and I've had no damage to it whatsoever. The length of the cord is perfect and the cord very well made and high strength.

There is one slight drawback; hence, the 4 stars. The belt clip isn't overly tight so it sometimes comes off my bet when I pull my keys out. It's a bit of an inconvenience, but it doesn't happen regularly.

Works as described, relatively sturdy, however, my only issue is how many keys you can actually place on this ring before the internal spring tension seems to falter. In my profession, I tend to carry a lot of keys, and I found that at around 15+ keys, the internal tension spring for retraction begins to falter. At around 20 standard sized keys, I found the retraction doesn't work as one would expect. The ring provided on device gives the false impression that it can hold many more keys, which it can, but gravity is stringer than the spring. I ended up only selecting my 10 most important keys that I use daily, and place the remainder on a separate key ring.

I've been using my new keychain reel as an accessible access to my keys; I have mibilitynimpairment and makes opening my door much easier without misplacing my keys as happened before with other keychains. After trying both the Kevlar cord and this steel chain reel I can conclude I like the feel of the chain better; it just feels much sturdier and longer lasting compared to my Kevlar cord reel. I also like this belt clip much better than the belt hoop carabiner the other one has? It feels more steadfast and secure compared to a dangly belt hoop that hangs off your belt hoop. Th belt clip is also much more discreet compared to the carabiner hoop that dangles down my pants.

I'm an Assistant Manager at a major retailer, so I have to carry around keys when I work every day.

If I lose my keys, the store has to pay upwards of $2K to re-core all of the locks in the entire building. This is something that I do not want to cause. When I started, I kept leaving my keys places when I would use them because I'm a bone-head and set important things down when I shouldn't.

With these, I can comfortably carry 5 or 6 keys and because they're attached to my belt, I never have to worry about leaving them anywhere unless I take off the key ring. The belt clip seems very secure; I haven't had any slipping and the keys haven't even come close to falling off of my belt in the last 15-20 8h work days since I got this reel.

Tagged like most cattle at the office I have a badge which needs to remain in plain sight for viewing by security and to be used to swipe at gateways and doors. I had to buy a couple new retractors each year when they jammed or the string wore through and broke. Office supply store retractors are cheap gumball machine prizes compared to this Key-Bak.

The Key-Bak is a beefy, serious retractor. Yes, it is heavier and more bulky but it is not larger than my belt and the large clip holds it securely against a belt loop. Although it only has my badge and one or two other cards it makes you feel like Larry Daley in Night at the Museum! It's a durable, strong retractor that works smoothly. If anything the weight makes me more aware of whether I have my badge with me or not; with this I have not yet made that pointless walk from the parking lot to the door only to remember my badge was back at the car.

Made by a company in Ontario, CA it is a heavy duty reliable retractor. Well worth the cost over the gumball versions.
