Be careful inserting these short plugs

The hearing protection is terrific, as expected from a quality foam plug. The rear end of the plugs need a larger flange however. It is entirely too easy to roll up the entire plug, being so short and have too much inserted into the ear canal, making it very difficult to get them out. I had to drive home from the range with them in, and use tweezers to get them out. That was a really uncomfortable experience. Be sure to roll up only 3/4 or so before inserting them. I've never had this happen with other brands, and it's probably because they are a little shorter and slimmer than the ones I am used to. The do protect hearing as they should, and when used carefully are just fine for that purpose.

I'm on an off shift and when I sleep, I need things to be dark and quiet. In addition to the normal outdoor sounds, I have a neighbor who doesn't seem to care that their dog barks endlessly when they let it out. These block sound very effectively and I get about 3-4 good wearings with each plug, before I throw it away and get another. Luckily, they're not expensive and with a box of 50, they last quite a while, before having to rebuy. When I'm done with this box, I'm sure I'll order another as well.

I have worn many ear plugs in my life but these are the only ear plugs (& I've tried many brands) that do not hurt my ears. Definitely would recommend. I have to use a sleep aid though and Lunexa "“ All Natural Daily Sleep Formula for Deep Relaxing Sleep and Stress Relief works for me. I drift off to sleep easily and don't have any nightmares as with other products. WIll continue to use these.

I ordered these a year ago in October 2015 and they were the best earplugs I've ever used. I ran out October 2016 and placed an order for more and the newer earplugs are some of the worst I have used. The good ones (pictured left) are noticeably shorter and fatter and appear to have a smooth glossy finish. The bad ones (pictured right) are taller and thinner. They are skinny and do not do a good job of creating a seal. The noise they block out is significantly less than the old design likely due to the bad seal and more porous foam used.
Buyer Beware, many of the 5-star reviews are for the old design. If anyone finds earplugs that are similar to the old design, please let me know!
