I have been an Epilady user since 2001. Have loved their product and replaced them every 3-4 years. I had only bought it from Epilady directly in the past but this time decided to buy it from Amazon. The machine only worked once then stopped working. I recently opened the packet so can't return it to Amazon since it was purchased a few months back in anticipation that I would have to replace the previous one. I contacted Epilady and they sent me a plug-in cord in case if that malfunctioned but that didn't work either. I wish I had not bought this electronic product from Amazon or that Amazon would have longer warranties on items like this.

This is my third epilady, and I have to say that the build quality looks cheaper each time around....I'm afraid if I drop this one it will shatter. That being said, it was cheap and it performs as well as my last unit and much better than the original "coil" unit. My other concern is the power cord which is a really really thin wired one: my last unit ran through two power cords over it's lifetime (10yrs or so) and I expect this cord to go more quickly. Luckily there are generic transformer units available....

My original Epilady finally stopped working (after 30+ years of use) and I love this one more than my original coil version. It seems to be much quicker although after so many years using an Epilady, I don't have much hair to remove anymore. I was a little surprised when the instructions said to "wash legs with warm water and soap and dry thoroughly" before use. Because of the circular action when epilating, I need at least 2 hrs to make sure my skin is dry or I get ingrown hairs. I have found if I bathe with a loofah "after" using my Epilady I have no problem with ingrown hairs.... EVER!

Excellent product. This is my first epilator and I had so many questions when I was researching and shopping so I wanted to share a few thoughts on this zero-waste option as a beginner for anyone else on the same road. This little beast gets the job done. I highly recommend.

ABOUT ME :I have thick black hair from scalp to sole and deathly pale caucasian skin; after growing to about a third an inch, this guy ate them up.
PAIN: Yes it hurts: the same amount as waxing just a little more prolonged. You do get use to it, and for me it became almost relaxing after a few uses. On legs and arms it's more of a warmth with occasionally sting. On the face and pubic area it's a bit like lots of little harsh yanks, with a little heat and pinch. For me, the underarms are the most intense and "painful".
PRODUCT DETAILS: It makes similar noise to an iPhone vibrating really hard on gravel. The casing and wire feels flimsy in the hand but they're holding up very well. PRETTY PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DON'T BUY A BATTERY OPERATED.
USE TIPS: I'm still learning but I've found that using it like an ultrasound wand on legs (straight up and down perpendicular to skin, in small slow circles) and like a straight razor (slow swipes going with the contours of jaw cheeks neck and chin) on the face work best.
CONS: It does take several passes to get all the hair; I've had small amounts of breakage where the hair gets cut but not pulled out and leaves the unsightly little black dot under the skin.

After a nasty struggle with androgen-secreting tumors, I've been looking for a magic solution to my full lady beard and body hair and this product is my miracle find.

(Note: the only reason I've given four stars instead of five, is because I believe that a slightly pricier more deluxe version from this same Epilady brand might be better for people with a larger budget or more experience.)

I absolutely LOVE IT!!!! Okay so I got this about a month ago in case my current epilator died on me. It finally stopped working, it used to be one that was cordless. It then eventually needed to be plugged in to work. It finally died on me. I AM SO HAPPY WITH THIS EPILATOR! I cannot believe that I waited this long to actually use it! So first of it isn't as loud as most epilators. My previous one was as loud as a chainsaw. In comparison to my previous one, this one sounds muted to me (like I could actually use it while there are people in the house) AND it doesn't leave my skin feeling raw. I also felt like it worked faster than my past epilators, I didn't need to pass an area as many times compared to my previous epilator (3 in 1 Powerful Electric Rechargeable Epilator Shaver Pedicure (ESP) for Her Spa Grade Pedicure Heel and Foot Callus Remover with Luxurious Hair Removal Epilator and Shaving Head With Built in Light). Definitely going to keep purchasing this one once it needs to be replaced.
