Performs as well as a top name brand unit at a fraction of the cost. Easily cuts through 1/2" thick materials. I've already had the wire ring that goes on the end get destroyed. Don't really need that though, and it's easier to guide without it.

I had never used a plasma cutter before so this was a first for me. After making a plug for my 240V receptacle and hooking everything up, I was ready for a trial run. I used a scrap 3/8 in mild steel as a test piece, I used a piece of angle for a straight edge. The cut was clean and straight. The least expensive USA made machine for 1/2 in cuts were over $1,200.00. The Lotos is not a production plasma cutter but will work great for the average home welder. When this one quits I'll purchase another. I would recommend this product. If you shop around you can get consumables at lower prices that will work.
Finally bought one. No regrets!

So far so good. Just what I expected and more. Got it set up and tested it out on some 1/8 inch steel, cuts just fine on a lower setting. Also tried cutting some 3/8 by 2" on a higher setting, no problem at all. Really not much else to say. If you are in the market for a nice plasma cutter at a lower price then this would probably be a great choice. If you take care of this machine keep it clean, (sometimes you have to blow out your welders and plasma machines with some low pressure air to keep them running cool) it should last a long time. I will keep the five star rating unless it fails me.

Incredible little machine. It's like a micro light saber. I've used a thermal dynamics cutter before that costs five times as much. This tiny Lotos performs nearly as well for 1/5 the cost! Cuts right through rusty painted metal. Make sure you have a good ground. Grind off any paint or rust from where you clamp your ground. Clean the tip of the gun with a wire brush often for best performance. Use it on 220v and be amazed!

Fantastic little machine, very easy to set up. Directions were not required, but the ones that came with it made sense and a 9 year old could do it., The factory wire hold back guides are junk though, I put one from a Thermal Arc on it, see the picture. I adapted it by creating a shim/ring out of a small piece of mechanics wire that slips right over the cone and slide the hood Bach over that, and it stays perfectly in place. Doing this will cut consumables use drastically! Like 3 a Day to 1 every 3 mos. I am using it in a commercial weld shop and it's been the best bang for the buck for pretty much anything 1/2 or less. Bargain and a half. Consumables are available from my local Sears store, even better!
