Inferior materials and thinner.

Little disappointed with the filter received. It isn't aftermarket but the the quality is different than the original that came with the purifier. This is the 1st replacement. When I compared the old with new, the prefilter on the new is inferior than the original one. As you can see from the photo, top filter is old and bottom is new. The material of the prefilter on the new is different and you can see the white paper filter underneath the prefilter. The old seems to be washable but the new is thin and flimsy. I wish they still use the same material on the prefilter.

My air purifier is 3 months old and have not yet had the need to use this. I do clean it ever 30 days as my instruction book suggested, by vacuuming filters. Now at 60 days I just changed the prefilter (charcoal) one for first time this month. It is not an expensive one but the cleaner it stays the longer it will be before I have to change the combination Heppa / charcoal expensive filter. I have COPD and run my unit 24/7. Ran it on high for first 24 hours. Then mostly use it on low except when commercial mowers show up when I put it back on high for 2 hours. On low for all the rest of the time and it works great!
New filters, cheapo construction.

I received a newer, cheapo construction filter that looks significantly worse than the previous filters I've ordered. First off, the carbon filters used to have a nice bead of hook & loop fabric both the back of the filter assembly and the back of the carbon prefilter to easily remove and clean monthly. That was removed, and now the prefilter no longer has the hook & loop, only the filter side does. What does that mean for you? Carbon filter gets ripped and can no longer attach to the filter assembly. Second, the filter housing is now made from cheapo cardboard, previously it was made from plastic. Will not be buying these filters again!

I use my GermGuardian in my workout room in the basement. That room is a paradise for germs, but with GermGuardian, I'm able to fight them off.

Removal of the old filter and installation of the new one was as easy as replacing batteries on my clicker.

Other than that, there's little to say. Enjoy!

Good True HEPA filter. It comes with one carbon pre-filter. I would recommend purchasing some more pre-filers like Carbon Activated Pre-Filter 4-pack for use with the GermGuardian FLT4825 HEPA Filter, AC4800 Series, Filter B (12) and replacing it regularly, It will extend the life of the HEPA filter and save you money.
