Tiny pieces, stick to everything, not worth your hassle

If you were expecting large chunks of foam (like the photo suggests) then you will be sorely dissapointed. This is small bits, practically foam dust. It is completely shredded, which makes it very hard to get into an item (I am topping off a large 8 foot bean bag chair that already has microfiber chunks in it).
If you do order this product (I suggest you don't and look elsewhere for something that has larger chunks) then do not unpackage/transfer on top of carpet. And do not do it near small children/animals, as the particles get in the air and everywhere (so they will be inhaled and/or picked up by your kids/animals and then who knows where the foam will end up!).
I did the unpacking in our den on hardwood floor and had to minimize my clothing because the static caused these tiny bits of foam to so easily stick to me that even my bare arms would be covered with more foam than I could get to stay in the bag. In the end, I brushed this stuff off and swept it up to be dumped back into the bag afterwards. A good 10% of the foam didn't make it into the bag and got too mussed by the process of unpacking and sweeping to use, so I had to toss it.
I am so frustrated that after literally hours of looking for a product that seemed to be large chunks of microfiber that I received this garbage and had to utilize it because I spent so much money on it.

I ordered the 20 lb bag because I have several deflated bean bags and I was tired of the polystyrene flattening out. First, even though it's cheaper, DON'T buy the 20lb bag... buy four 5lb bags instead. Then you can put the bag INSIDE the bean bag before opening it. I had a huge mess on my hands and one shirt that is still covered with microscopic pieces of foam. Second, I would say 10lbs would fill one standard Big Joe beanbag. Third, foam does not work well with the chair shaped bags because it is not stiff enough to hold shape. It makes great regular beanbags, though, and is a reasonable alternative to polystyrene.
Worked very well. Very little mess for me.

Got this to add a little extra fluff to a bean bag we have. I had ordered the 4 foot Big Chill bean bag off of Amazon before. It has memory foam chunks inside. After SEVERAL children from a 5 year old to 17 year olds using it for 7 months, the foam was not quite as fluffy as it had been. I expected that to happen and figured that I would eventually add to it. I got this shredded foam to add. I only got the 2.5 lb block. I wasn't sure how much I would need as I didn't need to refill the whole bag, just to add some extra fluff to it.
It comes and it's compressed into a square that measures about 10 inches by 10 inches. It was fairly hard to open as it was in a bag, and then the bag was taped with clear packing tape the entire way around it. I had to use scissors to get it out of the tape. I took it out of the bag and it remained in a cube for me. The bean bag has a double zipper inside, I unzipped those and threw the chunk in, zipped it shut, replaced the cover and then broke the foam up once it was secured inside. This worked really well with not much mess. I actually ended up with more of the chunks that were already in the bean bag getting out than what came off this block. The stuff in the bag was a little staticy which made it want to stick to my arm and the zipper. The block wasn't like that, I only had a small handful of pieces fall off and I just picked those up by hand afterward.
I really liked this fluff and seeing now after I have it in, I probably would have ordered the 5 lb block. My daughter thought it was enough when she was sitting on it. But I would have liked it to be just a little more. I may order another bag at some point to throw in there.

Excellent quality, super soft

Excellent quality, super soft, but beware if you are using this to stuff a Pottery Barn furry bean bag. It will create havoc with the fur! I literally had to pull the foam piece by piece from the fur with a little help from some Static Guard & a comb. Luckily I realized this after the first 5lbs. (Not the foam's fault, it's just static.) It took 12.5 lbs to fill a large Pottery Barn bean bag. It is so soft and comfy it's like lying in a cloud. So much better than any beans in a bag. Huge upgrade for sure!
Tip: I started with 2 5 lb bags, I opened the first bag inside the cover, but the static had the foam coming out everywhere. For the 2nd bag I sprayed the opening and my arms with Static Guard and had a much better experience.

Good Price. A lot compacted in the package. Messy as heck. Worth it.

It is a reasonable price for what you get. This stuff really expands once you open it, so be ready. The static cling will make a huge mess, and I mean huge. I had read some reviews so was at least somewhat prepared. I used it to fill a body pillow. I laid a tarp outside on the grass for my project. I had a squirt bottle of water handy. I put the unopened bag into my body pillow sack before cutting it open...to contain some of the mess. Only it expanded and then I had a hard time getting the packaging out and the product unstuck from the center of the bag. But eventually I prevailed. The squirt bottle of water helps cut down the static cling. This stuff sticks to your clothing, your hair, your arms...anything it touches. So spritz down as you go...trust me...it helps. Don't do it inside...just don't. You'll thank me for that tip when you find out what happens when you open the package. But I love shredded foam in pillows...it doesn't mash down, you can easily fluff it back up, you can wash and dry the pillows (as long as the outer fabric is washable). If it wasn't so challenging to work with, I would stuff all my pillows with this stuff. If you can handle the mess, you will save a fortune making your own shredded foam pillows, throw pillows, body pillows, and perhaps even bean bags (sans beans).
