it is quite cute, the perfect size, and looks well made. As we are not taking scientific data with it, the fact that either the glass tube is vertical or the frog is vertical, but not both at the same time, is a small matter. Also, the glass tube sits in an opaque receptacle - so, if there is less than an inch of rain, one has to go out and pull the glass tube out in order to read the gauge. Also, not a huge problem. The fact that it is so cute and otherwise well-made more than make up for these minor issues.

Adds a little flare to my cast iron flower urn! Cute rain gauge and sooooo thrilled that it has a replacement glass cylinder! My other one did not and although I am incredibly picky and protective, that cylinder broke anyway, so I wanted to purchase a different gauge and this one was it! Love it! Totally adorable. I do take the precaution of emptying both the glass tube and the frog each time after a rain in order to prevent rust. It would be a better design if the company just put a drain hole there at the bottom of the hole.

I love this frog rain gauge so much that I have now purchased it twice! As other people have noted, the tube holder does rust and has turned the bottom of the test tube a pale orange. But this does has not prevented me from reading the numbers. The frog itself is cute and seems very sturdy. He is a fine addition to my garden, and I'm glad I got it.
