seems to work but needs instructions and had to buy an adapter separately to fit plug

Seems to be working. I am not transformer savvy and this really took a lot of thought and whatever I learned ages ago in electronics 101 class to deduce that I was probably using it right since there were no d%$*& instructions included. Using this in the US for a Japan device, I plugged the line from the transformer to the wall, then plugged in the Japan device to the 100V outlet since it was a 100V device.
Bought this 2000w to use with a kotatsu (hopefully a lot of extra w so it doesn't blow) which I also bought on amazon (YAMAZEN ESK-751(B) Casual Kotatsu Japanese Heated Table 75x75 cm Black https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F2C31AM/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1) which has a regular US sized 2 prong plug although the voltage is for Japan. Pretty much all Japan products that I bought while there even 15 years ago seemed to have the regular 2 prong plug. Perhaps with this voltage it is for larger appliances that might have the other style plug. All that said, since this has two outlets each, why not make one of each plug style?
Instead I made a guess and bought this Franzus Travel Lite Adapter Plug Two Thin Blades White by Conair https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AHFYEN2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
which seems to work although the fit isn't as snug as I'd like in the transformer socket it stays in place.

No instruction manual. The labels don't make it entirely ...

No instruction manual. The labels don't make it entirely clear which position the switch needed to be in for the voltage but I figured it out after I read them again and again until it made sense. I initially selected the voltage based on the appliance I wanted to use when I should have selected the voltage of the power source. My Japanese appliance did not fit in the Japanese voltage 100v line but I was able to make it fit with my circular prong adapter that I happened to have from Korea. Honestly, I haven't used it yet, but I have a feeling that I'm going to have to come back and give it one star after it breaks.
Works as advertised!

It stands by it's reputation - made in China! When I removed it from the box and wrapping, I heard some noise. Opened the panel and found parts and pieces of the transformer fastener were detached from it's base! I fixed it by using bolts and nuts. Good news is that it's working fine as advertized. I guess we don't have many options at that price. Orherwise would have been cheaper to buy a new Nespresso machine from the USA.
Broke in less than a year

It works well while it lasts, and it did not last long. I bought the 2000-Watts version to power my 1200-Watts Japanese rice cooker. It worked really well, never burn a fuse. Then one day after about 9 months it just stopped working. I replaced the fuse and it did not help. When I switch it on the power LED comes on, but no electricity goes through the outlet. No burnt smell, just broke. Very disappointed.
Very dissappointed

This worked for about two months and then broke. I flipped the 100v/120v switch from 120v to 100v and then back. That got it working the first time. It broke again about a month later and the same 'fix' didn't work. I couldn't find a phone number for the company so I emailed them. They never answered my email. Unfortunately, I didn't buy Amazon's insurance so I am now out $100+. I have two other similar transformers not made by VCT that are still working. One of them is years old.
(Yes. I checked the fuse too but it is still good.)
