This is the longest grain rice I have ever seen. It's almost like pasta length, LOL.
I have tried several styles of rice and this rice is among the top. It has good flavor and cooks nicely.
The rice is a little expensive, and I'm not convinced that it is worth double the price of the standard Royal Basmati which is already a longer grain than traditional rice from the grocery store.

It took me a little over a year to finish the bag. I eat rice frequently but saved *this* spectacular rice for dishes where the rice was really the star of the show. Give it a pre-cook soak in tepid water and after 30-60 min you'll want to rinse it until the water runs clear. Remove that extra starch so your grains are super fluffy and individual. Be sure not to overdo it on the water, you don't want mushy rice paste. These grains really do reach 1.25" in length. Just stunning. It's fragrant and delicious. If you enjoy putting effort into planning your meals, if you truly enjoy cooking for the fulfilling feeling and you're not rushing and seeking out short-cuts, this rice should be part of your pantry's dry/grain staples. I have at least 10 varieties/styles of rice grains in my pantry at all times.. From akita komachi sushi rice and green bamboo rice, to black forbidden rice and this xl basmati, Carolina gold, cultivated brown, brown basmati, short grain red rice, and everything in-between..and this is the rice that I will whip some side-eye at ya' if you go pawing through my pantry and pull it down from the shelf like you think I'm gonna let you do what you call, "cooking" in my kitchen..haha at this price I don't let other people use this rice, unless I know they'll be respectful of the grain and the carbon footprint it leaves behind, just to have it in my possession.

I must first admit that I have no expectation from this. My brother told me about it and I thought it was. As it turns out, this is about the best rice that I have ever tasted. It is not startchy, pasty, nor is it average. This rice is long and beautiful looking. It has a slightly nutty taste, very slight but tasty. It's not sticky and it performs well in most of my rice recipes so far.
