For my dad with very advanced Alzheimer's. We could not lift him out of a sitting position to transfer him to bed. This REALLY helped us out, since he's 240 lbs and can not be lifted. It gave us the needed "start" to a standing position. It is not recommended for wheelchair use because when a person leans forward it activates the lift. However, I got this so he could use it in his wheelchair, but made sure the legs on the chair were up so he could not lean forward and activate it. When we transfer him from the chair to bed it is important to have the brakes on so it does not roll backwards when he stands. He is now able to be taken outside to sit in the sun or go for walks around the block. With the proper precautions, having the legs elevated and brakes on, it has been an awesome addition to my dad's quality of life.

I have bad knees and really needed something to help me stand. This device works very well and gives a hard push to get you up. Just be mindful that you need to use chair arms to get you the rest of the way up and that chair might slip backward as you stand if you have tile floors. Other than that, this devise works better than I expected and gives me the confidence that I can get up on my own without help. I read comments that it was uncomfortable, but I have sat for hours reading and find it very comfortable.

I am physically challenged getting up from a standard chair with no arms, such as in a restaurant. I saw this butt lifter, and thought "its worth a try." I weigh about 280, and found this lifter was just the thing to give ma an assist. It is easy to close up and carry, and sets up for various weights. It uses a spring loaded air cylinder to gently deposit you in the chair, and by leaning forward and removing some weight, it assists in standing. It actually works.

Recently I developed an arthritic condition in my hip that made standing up from my chair very difficult. This product provides just enough boost to help me stand without struggling. It is not very comfortable to sit in for long periods because the seat cushion isn't very thick. It was easy to adjust for my weight although I did have to set it a little lower than my actual weight because I felt it was pushing up too strongly at first. I'm happy I purchased this.
