Bought two of these storage racks. From the pictures it locked like the pieces may be light weight metal like aluminum, but I took a chance. I was very glad to discover that they are heavy gauge, especially the two cross bars. I priced it out doing something like this with wood and these were cheaper. Plus it took me 15 minutes to install one. Way simpler. To make four tires fit on one bracket I installed with the 48" span. 32" was too small for four snow tires on wheels. No issues at all with sag. The instructions were clear, although the socket dimensions listed are off. It states 7/16 socket, but I had to use 1/2". Overall EXTREMELY satisfied.

Ahhhhh the HyLoft folding storage loft. Just installed one on the garage wall and here are some tips. You will want to get some longer lag screws first of all. The three inch supplied lags might be ok if you are storing 13" Honda wheels that weigh 25lbs each. You lose one inch of lag screw bite just from the 1" tubing of the frame. Depending on what wall treatment you have you could lose another 1/2" if say you have drywall so now your three inch lag screws are down to 1 1/2". I used 5" lags to hang the frame so that I have at least 3 1/2" of lag screw in the studs. If you are hanging this on a finished drywall wall here's another trick. Mark where the holes are to be drilled for the frame using the frame as a reference. Then, I use 1" diameter washers in a 1" diameter hole drilled with a hole saw to fill the space between the storage frame and the studs (ONLY DRILL DEEP ENOUGH TO GET THROUGH THE DRYWALL AND NOT INTO THE STUDS). This keeps the drywall from crushing and the frame from loosening up and potentially falling off the wall and also the washers will be hidden under the frame so no one would ever know how clever you are. The result is a solid mounting of the frame to the wall studs via the 1" holes filled with washers to transfer the weight. I've used this trick to mount everything from garage door tracks to anything that could crush the drywall. The rest of the directions are fairly simple to follow. I took one star off because of the thinness of the frame tubes. I have four 20" wheels on the rack and it's holding nicely. The photos show the drilled holes, holes with washers, mounted rack, finished job.
Review for big rim and tire set(22")

So I purchased this with much hesitation after reading all the reviews. It got great reviews for it's superb price point but no one really addressed having to put large tires and rims on it. So the snow tire and rim package I am putting on this rack is for a 07' Tahoe. They measure 35" from the ground to the top of the tire. It did fit the set. The only problem is that the actual tire does not sit between the two rack bars. They are sitting on the bar furthest from the wall and the tire is against the wall. It holds all the weight of the set and does have some bow in the bar but I have no worries that it will ever break. I have a chain running through the center of the hubs for extra safety measures. The lag bolts provided with unit are not a problem when installing into studs. I would never install this unit to hang tires if you do not plan on mounting it into studs. So feel free to purchase if you have a large set of tires. In a month I will be put a set of 22" rim and tires on this rack when I switch them ouot for the winter. I know they will fit as I also measured them and they are the same height as the snow tire set
Easy install, good hardware, couple items to watch out for

This is a generally good product. I don't see where others' complaints about this falling down come from - if you use the supplied mounting hardware, you won't have any trouble with it.
There are a couple issues to be aware of, however. First, if you put this in a corner, you're going to have a rough time of it. Mostly because either end will have rivets jutting out of it. Second, the depth front-to-back is inadequate for anything larger than passenger car tires. My 4Runner tires (pictured) balance entirely on the front-most cross-beam, which puts additional stress on the mount (cantilevers it, basically) and also rub against the wall at the back. Those tires are 265-70R16, which isn't exactly huge by today's standards.
Other than the above, installation proceeded without issue. The mounting hardware supplied is, surprisingly enough, quite good for a solution at this price point. We tested this by sitting on the rack (combined weight of about 320 pounds with my wife and I) and it held without complaint. It can accommodate 4 tires across, no issue.
For any prospective purchasers, I would recommend:
-- Size your tires. If they're light truck/SUV/full-size truck tires, just be aware that they may scrub the wall this rack is mounted to. Put a towel or something there.
-- For additional safety, run a cable lock or cable through the spokes of your tires and mount to an overhead support
-- The folding feature is nearly useless
-- Have a buddy when you're actually tossing tires up there
No complaints otherwise

Cost effective tire rack

Bought two for snow tire storage. Easy installation. I did add washers for all the installation bolts and used thread lock on the bolts securing the cross rods. Seems secure. I weigh 180lbs and could do a pull-up on one support arm without it moving. I don't see that the ability to fold will be useful to me. One star off for lack of washers. I don't really know what more you could want from a tire storage rack and I'm glad I didn't buy the more expensive models.
Update: I bought a third one for more snow tire/summer tire storage. Absolutely no problems with the other two after several years. I check on the nuts and bolts once in a while, but nothing has moved. These are very useful racks at a very good price. I'm pretty much a hack at home projects and I find these easy to install. It maybe took me 20 minutes working off a ladder.
