It is 0°F outside, with 17 below windchill, and this thing is working like a charm! Our urban backyard has become survival central for winter critters! We bought the clamshell protective cover for the cord, it seems to be working well. I have this on ground level on a brick patio relatively close to the house so that I can access it easily and the cord does not have to go across the backyard. I highly recommend this product to help our wildlife through the winter.

This heated bird bath works as advertised, we have reached into the 20 degree range and have had snow fall on it , it remained unfrozen. The only thing I wish it was, was a little deeper but then I guess it would take more electrical power to keep it unfrozen. The birds are drinking out of it , I have to fill it every day. I think the deer are using it as well since it gets empty sooner then expected. One of the photos shows it on a stand, I did not get that in the box if its included.
Works well but some birds are afraid of it for now.

The item is as advertised. We got this so we can provide water to birds during the winter. So far, we have had no frozen water and there have been a number of nights where the temperature has been well below freezing. Some of the birds appear to fear the thing but not all and I am sure the others will be fine with it after a while.

Works just as it should. Below zero weather, no problem. We had a foot of snow, but the bowl stayed liquid, and available to the bids. It uses very little power, but should be plugged in to a GFCI for safety. I feel much better now that I can offer the birds a drink in such inclement weather.
