Nicely made, warm mittens
Jennifer K✓ Verified PurchaseMarch 11, 2018
These mittens worked very well for me. Went snowmobiling and they kept my hands very warm. Temps probably got down to 10 Deg F or so. I liked the strap I could attach to my arm so I wouldn't loose them when I took them off. The fleece mitten insert was a nice addition, and I used them when the day got warmer. I liked that the insert had magnets to hold the finger tip ends back. The mittens were roomy and I had room for a hand warmer which I really didn't need. Both the outer and inner mittens seem well made and o think they will hold up well. Would recommend these to pthers
Hands stayed warm in Winter Yellowstone NP.

Bought the large and the fit was perfect. Not too tight but not falling off either. They are very warm. Spent a week in Yellowstone during February and my hands never got cold. Temps were in the 4 to 15 range. I had hand warmers with me but never needed them. In fact most of the time I removed the shells and just used the liners and my hands still remained warm. The liners are designed so you can flip back the fingers & thumb to expose your fingers. I needed this as I was heavily involved taking photos and having my fingers available was extremely helpful in working my camera settings. Very pleased with these mittens.
Heavier, warmer shell mitt than most
Jeffrey A Bradley✓ Verified PurchaseFebruary 19, 2018
The inner mitt is crap, but I knew that when I bought them. The outer mitt is more than a mere shell. Most of the mittens out there now have a very thin shell of a mitt, and put all of the insulation into the inner liner glove/mitt. With this one, the shell has a meaningful amount of insulation. So if you go up one size, you can wear your preferred liner gloves (which for me is OR's PL400) inside of these and substantially increase your warmth. By pulling the inner mitt, these collapse small enough to carry around in my coat, so that I can always have the option of wearing just gloves, just mitts, or gloves and mitts.
After reading so many great reviews, I was looking forward to these gloves

After reading so many great reviews, I was looking forward to these gloves, but they did not full fill my expectations. I went by the measurements provided and bought the small, but they are big through the hand part. The adjustable straps enable me to it them on my wrist properly and over the sleeves of my jacket, but the hand part is big. My hands do not stay warm in these and I think it's because there is too much room. I have to use hand warmers in them when at the same temperatures, I have other gloves that do a better job. They do keep my hands dry. I think I will try other liners to see if they work better at keeping my hands warm than the one that these gloves come with.
Thumb too tight !!
Laurie Ann Conradt✓ Verified PurchaseDecember 30, 2017
Just like the other comments, the thumb area is too small. It was actually tight on my hand. DO NOT buy these for snowmobiling. There is a very thick area when your hand would meet the handle grips this will cause fatigue over time. Also, if you sweat, when you remove your hand the liner turn s inside out and is hard to place back in. I tried these on a -3 degree day. After wearing 1 hour, I removed my hand. The whole inside liner came out and was hard to place back in.
