Bought two of these to paint my house and it works great. I couldn't seem to find any 12" rollers at lowes (i didn't look very hard but still). I used the 18" setting with the purdy extension pole and its very nice. You can roll a room in no time using the two. One thing I noticed on any of the walls I used the 18" roller w/ extension pole; I never got full coverage, there would always be little spots where you could see the old paint showing through. Although I'm an amateur painter and I'm sure that had something to do with it. I think since its such a larger roller its hard to get the right pressure over the whole roller in order to get the coverage you need. Just something to keep in mind.
