Great sounding mandolin. Only issue was that the input jack wasnt properly grounded to the rest of the instrument. It would hum until you touched the jack plate. I took a piece of copper tape and taped a wire from the input jack plate to the bridge plate. No hum now.

The Ibanez M510E-DVS Mandolin is a great little mandolin for the money, and quality of the instrument (again, for the cost) lives up to the Ibanez name. I had ordered a mandolin virtually the same as this one (except for the finish) through another online resource just weeks prior to ordering this one. I purchased this mandolin for my long-time musician husband after he began monopolizing mine. (He played lead guitar professionally for 30+ years, so knows a good instrument when he sees and hears it.) Whereas the mandolin I had ordered for myself was adequately packaged and arrived in pristine condition, this one did not. It arrived with several small scuff marks on the sides of the mandolin due to insufficient packaging, which was a shame because it is a beautiful instrument. We kept the mandolin regardless; hubby loves it and agrees that the Ibanez M510E-DVS is a terrific buy for the money.
