I found this to be noisier than I expected. Not nearly as loud as a diaphram pump, but it isn't quiet either. I'd say it is a little louder than a dishwasher. The filler cap on mine leaks oil - when I run the pump for 10 minutes or so, there's a small pool of oil on the top of the pump around the filler cap. A friend says I may have overfilled it with oil, but I don't think so because I followed the instructions pretty carefully. But it does pull a strong vacuum, and it does look like it will last for awhile.

Arrived damaged even though the shipping box wasn't in bad shape. Mostly cosmetic but still new should be new. Unboxed it. Came with enough oil to fill it up one time. Buy extra oil. Turned it on for a preliminary test to make sure it worked and sucked. Everything looked good. Smoked some, but from what I read that's normal and expected for this type of pump. Once it drew a vacuum the smoke slowed or stopped. Will update stars if have any issues with performance.

This thing is awesome. I thought it would be loud, like other similar brands but, this pine is actually really quiet. I could fall asleep next to it. There's only a slight hum when it's running. I haven't set my whole vacuum system for stabilizing wood yet but, I'm very impressed with this unit so far. Everyone who I inquired about with different brands, this one was always the winner in budget friendly vacuum pumps. This is WAY better than all the other cheap Chinese brands that re-label the same unit. Plus, it even comes with a warranty. Buy this brand and I gaurentee that you won't be disappointed.

Received pump in sealed box, drain bolt was stripped and some of threads in case were damaged, hardware store next door had correct bolt, ran tap through case, cleaned up enough for new bolt, however, had to use oil supplied with unit to flush out filings from damaged threads, used half of oil I purchased to run pump till warm and drain again to insure no metal filings were left in pump, first vacuum did not hold leaving me with not knowing if pump, or gauges or car repair were leaking, used nylog on all pump, gauges and lines, then vacuum held. So not knowing q/c policies for manufacturer, they would have to back out drain plug by hand to know it was cross threaded. Then they would not have this public review.

Perfect for my home garage. It pulls excellent vacuums. I've learned to do my own AC work and despite having spent several hundred dollars to purchase the necessary equipment, I have saved that much and more, I have a recovery tank and an extracting pump, so whenever I need to check something in any of my vehicles, I can recover the refrigerant, do the work, and put everything back at nearly no additional cost.
