Comfortable, attractive, but not sturdy!

We have a short-medium size English Bulldog and unfortunately, he's blind. He loves the fresh air of the patio, but without a gate there, he can easily walk right into our pool. So we had to find a way to create a barrier, without blocking any of the fresh air. This seemed like a great option.
It was not hard to put up and it allowed almost all the air to come in. However 3 days after we got it, without much effort, he pulled the screws out of the wall! Now we have to patch the wall and find a new solution. This might be a great choice if you have an infant or a very small dog. It is attractive and open, just not functional with any resistance.

Really like this. Just fit in our hallway. All fittings included to adjust to wall and to baseboard mldg. Very well made and looks good. Did not fasten to floor in center because we have Travertine on floor and didn't want to drill any holes in it. Gate and latch works perfect. Self closing but will stay open if put in open position. Our baby Morkee (Maltese/Yorkee mix) just squeezed thru the end but we set a blanket over it for about 2 wks until she got too big to squeeze thru. We've had it for about 2 months now and still works/looks like new. We haven't tested it on our 2 Old English Sheepdogs yet but I think it would hold up to them too.

This was a purchase thru Amazon warehouse deals that is marked as being INSPECTED and I presume that means suitable for resale.
When I ordered this gate, nothing led me to believe I would not be receiving everything that was needed and what the description of the gate stated as being included.
However MISSING from package is the mounting hardware packet consisting of: ten screws, one of the two upper wall mounts with pin (we got one) , two lower wall mounts with pin, one wall fitting template, and an instruction manual.
To make this gate usable I need the hardware. I cannot rate it if I cannot attach it to the wall although the gate itself appears to be perfect for my needs.
Update: this was a return that I purchased. Amazon could not send the missing hardware but the original seller had great customer service.:)
I settled on 4 stars because of the good CS but feel that the gate itself is a little weak. We use it for a pet gate but I would hesitate to trust it for a toddler. We have two other gates that's feel are stronger and safer. One is a Carlson and the other is Summer Infant. We needed this one to span a larger opening.

I rarely post product reviews but frequently read them and in this case am glad I did. I purchased this product after reading several reviews and was aware some folks found the product to be fractionally less than the advertised 72" in length. However, several reviewers also mentioned that they were able to fashion spacers to address the issue. Upon receipt of the product I determined it to about 1/8" too short for the intended location. However, thanks to a product review by T. Hughes posted January 30, 2016, I was able to secure perfectly engineered spacers for the gate. In his review, Mr. Hughes noted that as a project for middle school students in Kokomo, IN, he had them use a 3D printer to produce spacers necessary to fill the gap. He graciously invited others to contact him about producing similar spacers. I sent Mr. Hughes an email with pictures of the space and the measurement and within a few days I received two pairs of perfectly engineered spacers to solve the problem. Many thanks to Mr. Hughes and his students. I am very pleased with the results and especially pleased to see dedicated teachers and students apply modern technology to solve practical problems. Well done!!

The gate is extremely difficult to open if you don't use both hands. Not convenient if you're bringing in groceries, holding a baby, etc. Plus, this is not a good option for a standard-size hallway. It will fit, but only if it is angled out on both sides of the gate door. Also, if you have quarter round this gate will NOT work for you unless you cut it to allow room for the wall attachments on the gate, or if you don't mind the gate being an inch off the ground. Having quarter round has made this gate completely useless for us. Unfortunately, due to the size and weight, return shipping would cost more than the gate itself. Now it's in the box in our attic. I gave it 2/5 stars because the color is nice and the gate material is sturdy.
