Sizing makes no sense

I am very confused by the sizing...my 10 year old son got the size 1 which according to the size chart should have fit him perfectly. He said the pants were "cutting him in half" LOL (elastic waistband too tight). So I ordered him a size 2 which apparently fits fine. For myself, I am 5' 8" and actually a little more than 185 pounds, but according to the drop down size chart right below where you select the color, that's a size "3". I received my gi today in the mail and the pants actually fit pretty good, but the sleeves on the top stop about two full inches above my wrist! Looking in the comments section I see ANOTHER size chart (as a photo) that says size 3 is "5' 5" and 125 lbs". WHAT??? I am WAY taller than 5' 5" and WAAAYYYY more than 125 lbs! Which one is right? I still think something is wrong if my 5 foot tall 10 year old son who weighs less than 100 pounds is only wearing one size below me and I'm 5' 8" and closer to 200 pounds! I'm thinking I might go ahead and keep this to pass onto my son when he grows into it, and order myself the size 4?
Top good, pants small

I originally got a size 2 (I'm 5'4'', 130lbs) - the top fit great, but the pants were a little tight. I wear a woman's size 6 pants. The pants were wearable but the waist, even with the elastic band, didn't leave much room at all. And that was before washing and shrinking. Since the uniform is cheap I ended up also buying the size 3, in which top was kind of big but pants at least fit a little better but were kind of baggy around the legs.
For the price, I'm not complaining too much since I do get quite a bit of use out of this uniform. But the size range may not be too accurate...if you're at the high end of the range you may want to opt for the next size up.

Nice quality. Size 0 runs slightly small from size chart. Fast shipping!

Nice quality Gi. Size 0 is slightly small for what size chart lists. My 10 yr old boy is 4'8", 67lbs, and skinny waist (25"). I couldn't decide between the size 0 and 1, because he either fit into the height or weight on sizing chart. I ended up getting the size 0 as I figured it would still work if it is a little small, versus too big and dragging on the floor. The 0 is indeed slightly small, a tad short in length of pants (above ankle) even though his height is within the size chart (size 0 says 4'6-4'8" height). I would say the max height would be 4'6" or 4'7" for this size 0. The top works fine, also a tad short in length of arms and overall length. He is using it for Aikido and therefore it is helpful to have his feet and wrists exposed. I did wash in cold water and hang to dry as label says, and will have to continue if I don't want it to shrink.
Great Uniform

I've been using this for nearly a year now and I really like it. The sizing worked out really well (I got a size 5, I'm about 6'2" and 220 lbs), although I will say the pants were a little longer than I expected. That being said, the pants have plenty of room to be pulled up to counteract that, so it works out just fine and doesn't get too tight in the groin area. They're pretty comfortable to wear, not super heavy, and keep in place quite well. I've worn it through nearly a years worth of classes plus testing (always with an undershirt), and they've held up perfectly and still maintain their nice white color (i.e. no yellowing pits yet). Wash them with lights and hang them up, don't put them through the dryer (and don't put them in with towels, they ended up with towel fuzz all over them when I did that).
Perfect for Comic-con

I got this Gi for my Ken(Street Fighter) costume for comic-con because I knew it would be better quality than buying an actual costume and it looked and felt great. I'm 6' 155-160lbs and bought both a size 3 and a size 4 because I needed something slightly fitted and not too baggy and wasn't sure how the sizes would fit. The size 3 was perfect for the costume, the pants were just the right length and fit well, as well did the top. The size 4 was baggy for the costume but I could see it being much more functional if I were to use the Gi for its intended purpose. The pants in the 4 would have dragged a little but I don't think that's a big concern in martial arts where as my movement(especially kicks) would have been restricted in the size 3. It's really good quality and the price was very reasonable
