Good chest guard for elementary-age child

A good product, with vibrant color. Seems durable, is definitely wipable. Plenty of room to grow into.
Size small could fit a baby!

After much research and reading all of the reviews, I ordered the size small in red for my 9 year old son. Just arrived today and tried it on. It could fit a baby! Descriptions says length is 18". I measured and from the upper most red part by the shoulders/neck area down to the groin area, it only measures 15". If there is a 3" difference in this, it makes me wonder how the other sizes will be. I am leaning towards ordering the large. Other than that, it seems like good quality sparring equipment.
LOL, Adult XL barely big enough for five year old.

Watch the sizing. I searched for Adult Karate Chest Protector, selected XL and got it. It's not adult. And even if it's Children's sizing it runs small. I placed it against my son's child size small Macho chest protector and it's literally one inch wider on each side and about 2 inches longer over the torso. It's clearly labeled XL, but is far from that.
Too Small

I had to buy two (extra $7 shipping back) because the size chart was inaccurate. I needed to go up a size, even though my 9 year old is in great shape, and met the first size requirement.
Good protection; cheap straps; order one size up

Very good protection. You can feel the strikes (which is what you actually want), but I guarantee it has saved me from some bruised ribs. Straps on the back are a little cheap and feel like they may not last long, but we'll see. As for sizing, if you usually wear a medium polo, then get the large.
