Love them. See through, but mesh. Draw string. Saves me using plastic weekly at the grocery store for all my loose veggies.
Seams seem like the weak link of a balanced bag

I will address the mesh fabric, seams, and drawstring in this review. Before I proceed, I will say that the bags are a practical size for most produce purchases, but long things like celery and fennel probably will not fit in the bag.
The mesh seems adequate for most produce, but I worry about filling the bags completely. It feels like the fabric will hit its strength limit if I fill it with something dense, bulky, and tapered, like sweet potatoes that have those rough ends on them. I realize that the fabric was chosen with low tare weights in mind, so I will not fault the bag or its producer. Overall, the fabric seems well-chosen as long as the consumer bears its limitation in mind.
The seams are an area that I feel is inadequate, and I would like to see them strengthened. Even cursory prodding at the seams causes them to separate and strain the thin thread. If the seams were stitched tighter, doubled, or both, they wouldn't be an issue for me.
Regarding the lack of drawstring retainer, I just spent a few minuted googling how to tie a slipknot and tied one in all my bags' drawstrings. This way I can cinch them closed without adding extra pieces or tieing a knot at the store every time (as pictured).
Basically, these are decent bags for the vast majority of produce and light-duty needs.

Exactly what I was looking for

Let me get this out of the way... I hate plastic bags. I keep some on hand for walking the dog and that's about as far as I like.
These are perfect, and the set of 9 is a great number as I can have some in the truck with me for shopping trips and others on standby or in the laundry. If you're a heavy shopper, maybe get two sets.
I didn't find these exactly sheer enough to scan barcodes, but that could either be the bag or the checkout at the store I go to. Most produce I buy I print the label in the produce section and just stick it to the outside. Bingo!
I go to the store about every other day and these have held up well... wet, dry, heavy, light, they work. And I don't have to increase my collection of plastic bags.

Grocery store cashier approved! Sheer and negligible tare weight!

As a grocery store cashier I have seen just about every brand and style of reusable produce bags come through my line. These Earthwise bags are by far my favorite to both see come through my line and to use myself! Many of the reusable bags claim to be sheer, THEY ARE NOT! With these bags I've never once had to remove an item from the bag to read the sticker code or scan the item. In fact, the scanner often catches the bar codes just setting the bag on the scale. This makes it faster and easier at checkout. Also, most major grocery chains have the tare weights automatically uploaded based on the weights of the packaging provided in the store, the cashiers are generally not capable of inputting specific tare weights so if you have a heavier bag, you pay the extra X amount in weight for the bag as well as the product because the cashier CAN NOT CHANGE TARE WEIGHTS. Out of curiosity I placed one of these empty bags on the scale at work and it read at .01 lbs; which is the exact tare weight automatically removed for the plastic produce bags in-store. NO EXTRA WEIGHT ADDED! I've loaded them up pretty full with about 5 lbs of baker's potatoes, or 10-12 large oranges or apples and they fit just fine. They work on larger bulk foods items such as dry beans and I keep a few separate specifically for bulk dog biscuits and pigs ears. They wash well in the washer (in a lingerie bag), though I've never thrown them in the dryer. I prefer to hand wash just because it's almost ridiculous to wash such a tiny load in my big ol' washer. The only thing I would like to see are a toggle lock on the draw string added on. I'd pay the extra tare weight for that as long as the bags themselves didn't change. Though the bags are made of polyester and in China, I've already reused them enough times to keep my conscious at ease. I can accept the fact that plastic is inescapable and everywhere, including my car's interior, but I've "reused" my car for 11 years and 150K miles so I'm okay with that too. While we can't eliminate plastic (that computer screen you're reading is housed in plastic) we CAN lessen the impact, even if it just means reusing the same old plastic for as long as we can.
