Nice hutch
MetalFan✓ Verified Purchase•April 13, 2018
This is a nice hutch that went together pretty easy. The back board needing to be nailed in with 64 nails was a little overkill. I have seen reviews showing gaps in the back. I just nailed down the corners and the center line and it's on nice and flat. I have also seen reviews calling this cheap and showing the top bow. Look at the instructions, the top is rated for ZERO pounds. If you want to put stuff up there (I did) then put anything weighing a pound or more on the edges and lighter stuff in the middle. You can also just wedge a 1x1 between the desk and hutch in the middle to give it some support and it should not bow.
Easy to assemble.

Fantastic value. Instructions were SUPER clear; holes were drilled in the exact right spots and were placed in such a way that you almost literally could not install it incorrectly. Be aware, this takes some effort to put together. I took about two hours all told to assemble this and being on the floor for that long really took a toll on my knees. Use a kneepad.
Also, watch for the backing material; it didn't seem to be *exactly* the same width and so there were some nails that didn't catch the boards just right, resulting in a few blemishes. A gray sharpie fixed it right up.

Nice Looking but with Structural Flaws

The cabinet works well with the L-shaped Cabot desk and unless you are measuring for something else, I would not suggest purchasing it and blind-fitting to another desk. The biggest disappointment with this desk is the amount of weight created by the center tempered glass cabinet door. The material doesn't seem strong enough to support that kind of weight and so the whole thing when assembled bows in the middle given the appearance of a Torii. I went out to the hardware store, picked up a 2x4, spray painted to match, and prompted it up from the desk to below the tempered glass cabinet. Structurally, Cabot should have included something like this because the two small end vertical pieces just cannot support all that weight, and when put together the hutch is heavy so I would suggest two persons to heave it up on to your desk.
Great desk for the price

Took a while to build (by myself) because it was a surprise for the wife who is in med school and wanted a nice desk to work on. It is a very nice quality item and is worth the money. It does scratch so don't be too harsh to it. The 'charging station' thing really wasn't needed but that's neither here nor there, there are other uses for that area that she uses it for. As for the hub on the desk, if you dont want to connect it to a computer to charge your devices, you will need to buy the cord separately. The following is the cable I bought from amazon for 7$: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00X7B1WUQ/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_18
All in all, this desk is worth the money and it looks great and feels sturdy. Its not solid wood so its obviously not going to stack up to the 1000$+ desks but for the price range, this is a desk you can be more than happy with. (Note that the desk and hutch ships separately and can arrive days apart, I was lucky and they ended up shipping the later shipment earlier than expected so they arrived the same day)

I love it. The assembly instructions are so clear even ...

I've been using the desk for couple of months now. I love it. The assembly instructions are so clear even for me who doesn't have any handy work experience. I'm still amazed how precise their dimensions and even the quantity of the hardware. There is no extra or less parts to confuse you. Everything fits together perfectly. For the people who think the assembly is too difficult, it might be a patience issue. it's a complicated assembly project which needs a lot of patience, time and thinking sometimes. But the whole set is so lovely and totally worth it. I total spent about 2 whole days to finish it including the hutch.
