I own three of these units and they are great - but the one shipped to me is a completely different model with different sized tubes and the modular shelving components don't fit. Very bad quality control

We bought this shelving unit for our busy kitchen to help us keep the counters clear of clutter. We added the casters, ordered separately, to make it easier to clean UNDER the shelving unit. The casters have added enough height that even using the lowest shelf setting for our dog's food bowls, our Roomba can clean UNDER the shelving unit so we don't have to move it out as much to clean under the shelves. Win-Win-Win! The Roomba is happier not fighting with the dog food bowls, our dogs are happier to each from an elevated bowl on the wire shelf AND we're happier because our counters are much clearer and it's easier to see what items we are getting low on. We now store our produce (apples, citrus, etc) on the middle of the shelves in wooden bowls and hang our bananas from a hook hanging from the shelf. I also hang a water bottle with a few drops of Dawn for a quick cleaning spray, this is helpful even on the citrus when organic citrus is not in season. Now it's easy to grab the water bottle, spray, rinse and the fruit is ready. Because of our smaller height items, I bought an extra shelf to add to this unit so our shelving unit will now be 6 shelves instead of the 5 shelves as it's sold. I love how Honey Can Do sells a line of accessories from casters to extra shelves to spare clips so we KNOW they work together. This shelving unit even came with a spare plastic clip for the shelves in case one breaks.

Assembly is easy enough I was able to build these shelves despite some serious mobility issues. It IS helpful to have an extra pair of hands, though so keep that in mind. Lightweight, I was able to move the box myself. I'm totally pleased, definitely a full 5 stars!

I bought eight of these shelves in various sizes to redo a food storage room. When ordering take the time to compare all of the sizes because they have a lot of sizes - including the same height and width with different depths. Mine shipped very quickly so it was much easier to buy from Amazon than to go to your home improvement store and carry them and try to fit them in your car. All of the shelves are adjustable - I did NOT move the top shelf because I believe that gives it its stability. I DID move the bottom shelf up so that I basically had six shelves (assuming you can use your floor and the top shelf). If you are using them in a garage or basement you could easily have the bottom shelf a few inches off the ground to avoid the possibility of water damage to product.
They are pretty sturdy and can hold a lot of weight. I don't know if I would feel comfortable with 250 lb per shelf, but they can handle a lot. If you are putting small items on them you will need something under it to make a flat shelf because the shelves are wire and about 1/2 inch apart. You do not lose much space on the sides because the legs are small and do not stick out. There is a tiny lip around each shelf, maybe 1/16 an inch, that can be useful for stacking if your stuff fits.
They go together easily, obviously the first one took the longest. I did double check all of my shelves with a level because they have the ability to trick you into thinking they are level. I was also able to assemble these in a relatively small space. It is easier with two or more people so that all of the legs are being held up until the shelves are holding them.
We did have a few shelves that had manufacturing defects. Three had a metal goober stuck in the threads (the legs come in two pieces that are screwed together) but I was able to pop it off with a needle nose plier and wire cutter. Two others had slight dents in the lip of the threads and I used a flat nose pliers to smooth it out.
I have had these installed for about two months and am still very happy with how it all turned out.

This was the EASIEST shelf system to put together I have ever purchased. The directions were a little odd, very few words and pictures that were no help, but the part labels were clear enough and that was all I needed. I find it amusing that so many others who purchased this say they needed a mallet to put this together. I needed nothing at all, and it's all due to the genius design of the shelf parts.

The kit comes with 4 short poles and 4 long ones that attach with a coupler bushing that screws in to one end of both, they just twist together with your hands. The feet also just twist in, so that all that is left is attaching them to the shelves. There's a bag of these shelf support clips - this is what is brilliant. The way the clip together, around the legs of the shelving, if you look very closely at them one end is slightly wider than the other once they are snapped together, and this is by design. You can easily measure the distance on each leg because there are indented markings that you can count, and they're all exactly in the same place. You snap a shelf support clip in to place on the desired spot, making sure that the narrower part of the clip is pointed toward the top. Once all 4 clips are in place for the first shelf (always do the bottom one first!!) then you just slide the shelf down on to the clip, and the shelf is snug!

Once I got the first shelf in place at the desired height from the ground that I wanted, I set the frame upright so that the empty poles were pointing up. Then I just snapped 4 more clips on at the spot I wanted my next shelf, slid the shelf down onto to the clip, pushing the shelf holder down over that narrowest part of the clip and once it reached the widest part, it is forced to stop in place. I repeated the next two shelves the same way. These shelves don't bow in the middle like plastic shelving does. I got this to store all my paint supplies, leaving the bottom shelf just high enough to store a set of gallon cans below it.

Once I figured out the design of those clips, my job was easy. No place in the instructions is it discussed about the clip design (there are no actual words other than the names of the parts) - so it took me a few minutes to notice how, when the clips are snapped together, one end is slightly wider than the other.

The ease and sturdiness of these shelves is fabulous. I am a 59 year old woman and was able to put this kit together in about a half an hour, and part of that time was deciphering the funky instructions! I am impressed. I love these, perfect size and height for what I needed. I purchased the 4-Tier Shelving Unit: 250 lbs per shelf with intentions of storing all my gallons of paint, plus my miter saw which will go on the second shelf from the bottom. Yes, I have my own miter saw.

I needed shelving of these exact dimensions that would be compatible with the common 1 inch pole size you get with other shelving systems like the ones at department stores, however I couldn't find 14 X 24 in any store so I had to go online. This made it difficult because many of the shelving systems online don't list their pole diameter. I was even told by one seller that it was "to protect from competitors", which I don't fully understand... Anyway, it made it very difficult. I already had the 1" posts, so I needed these shelves to fit the poles, be 14 X 24, and be similar to the typical steel shelves you see in all those department stores in sturdiness and weight, so I bought the 3-tier, 250 lb-limit shelving. These units are pretty-much perfect for the job. Holding them, I can feel a very slight difference between them and the heavy-duty 12 X 36" shelving I got from a department store, but it's a very slight difference and they don't give or sway so they come together to provide a very sturdy shelf that I don't worry about. I even have two of these units that support another longer shelf between them using the shelf couplers I got from another seller, so I have a lot of weight on them and they're about as sturdy as any other "heavy-duty" steel shelving and they'll fit the 1" poles. Absolutely no complaints so far. One thing I will note is that I noticed the threaded object that the threads in the poles that come with these doesn't seem to be compatible with the threads on my other shelving unit's poles, but that's fine by me as I only bought these for the shelves.
