Industrial strength; this is made by the same company who manufactured CRT cleansing/repair equipment and other industrial electronics testing/repair/maintenance equipment. Sturdy build, simple design and large component erasing capacity.

After years of dealing with a home-made type of eraser that did 4 or 5 eproms at a time and had a very fiddly interlock switch, I made the jump to the real professional product that can erase up to 40 eproms at once. The price difference between the $50/4 and the ~$200/40 is worth it to me. I tried a couple other cheapies and they all came non-working (bulb probably did not survive shipping from China).
I go through a lot of eproms in software development and being able to erase the 40 at a clip instead of taking a day to cycle 4-5 in and out of the old eraser is a life saver. This unit is nicely made with metal parts unlike the other types which are plastic and frankly very amateurish.
