Added home value.

This small addition transformed our home. It added at least 25,000 on to the appraisal of our home. When the appraiser came in and saw this dangling from our ceiling fan, he nodded, turned around, and left with a smile.
Nice deal

Switch cost a whopping $2 plus change, beating local hardware stores and even big box retailer pricing by a mile. On top of that, it came with Prime 2-day shipping, which in the past has always referred to traditional business days. I ordered this item on a Friday, anticipating it would arrive on Monday despite Anazon's automated system saying it would get here on Sunday. So imagine how impressed I was to hear the mailbox by my front door rattle early Sunday afternoon. I stepped out, looked in the mailbox and there was my package! Unprecedented.
Quality seems comparable to the original Hunter part. My only quibble would be that the brass finishing hardware that came with the replacement switch wasn't designed with threads on both ends to use as a connector to support additional elements hanging below it like a shade/dome for the fan's lamp accessory. I don't recall seeing a specification for this one way or another in the online listing but it's pretty obvious if you look at the accompanying product photo closely enough. So I feel obligated to chalk this gripe up to customer ignorance with regard to knowing what details to look for rather than assigning fault to the product or seller. Easy enough fix: I was able to swap it out using the original brass hardware piece from the otherwise defunct Hunter switch.
So heads-up for other DIY noobs like me! Don't throw anything away til the job is done. Or you may find yourself digging through the trash after you realize your error.
Otherwise, I replaced the broken switch in my ceiling fan in just minutes and "” following a couple of weeks of routine use "” the new part seems to be doing a fine job.
