After more than 35 years of using EtBr, this product finally convinced me to switch. I never thought EtBr ws al that bad and the early iterations of "safe" stains seemed little better. This one has the advantage of not entering cells. But, really, the main utility of it from my point of view is the fact that blue-light does not damage the DNA if you are cutting a gel slice or similar technique.
It's sensitive. The images are clear; and clonable DNA recovery from gel purifications is easy to recover.
