Fits great for a northern Colorado trucker
Caleb Favela✓ Verified Purchase•September 5, 2023
I normally load and haul milk in the northern Colorado region but recently was switched to loading and hauling cement around the same general area and if you know how cold it gets in northern CO around this time of year you'll know that this is the time to get some insulated gloves. I chose these Carhartt ones (XL) because I've bought insulated jackets and sweaters from Carhartt recently and they've outperformed every other clothing I've owned so I thought why not. For reference I'm 6' 2" and 270 pounds (with a belly) and if you know about hauling cement in pneumatic trailers, you know you have to stay near the trailer at all times while constantly working with your hands and I'm glad I bought these gloves. They are so warm and water resistant, it's ridiculous (in a good way)! Whenever the temps get low, or when the sun is set, and I need to use gloves, I use these because while they don't keep my hands super hot, they leave them warm enough to where my hands aren't aching from the brutal cold! I have touched snow and ice with these gloves and have yet to wet my hands, even after a trip to Laramie, WY in a snowstorm!
I honestly have yet to try these gloves while chaining up on I-70 but when the time comes, rest assured I'll be using these gloves every time. They are that good.

Very warm except when driving

These gloves are very warm even in near zero weather with the wind blowing. They are comfortable but a little bulky, so it is hard to do things that require fine motor skills. I'll trade dexterity for the warmth any day. My fingertips get cold when I'm driving but not freezing cold. At first, I had a tough time getting my thumbs in the holes because the inside lining is loose, probably to promote heat retention. I've noticed that the more times I put them on the easier it gets to find the thumbholes. Definitely worth the money.
Works in extreme cold(-10 freezer)

Great glove. I wear a small in work gloves so any protection on them can cover my hand, and so my hands dont get tired from the tools slipping from the extra glove material. My hands always freeze after a day in the snow, so I ordered 4 sizes from small to extra large (based on what the reviews on here and google have said). A medium allowed my hand to fit snug enough for shoveling, but not too tight to compress the majority of the insulation, and then put my hands in an ice bucket testing the warmth of each glove and the style of glove itself. I need good gloves for the work I do both inside and out, as jts demanding. Used this glove today for about 5 hours on end (hands were too comfy to look at the time) clearing out parking spaces (15 foot each) for our and families cars, the neighbors and family driveway entrance, driveway, brushing off all cars; all after the snow plow came. After that, built a snowman and a little 3 wall room for my kid in the snow, and clearing off my work truck. I can safely say after one day wearing these gloves, this glove has exceeded any review I personally have read. Maybe its luck? But luck rarly strikes 4 times in a row (each size I tried on from amazon). Maybe they built these gloves better than in the past? I dont know, but ill be damned if I ever lose these gloves on a jobsite.
Warm, but not for extreme cold

I would recommend these to around freezing, 32 degrees fahrenheit. Down near 0, and below, they are only good for short term use. I ordered the largest size due to other reviews stating that they are tight. My tip of thumb to tip of pinky finger is about nine inches and they fit fine.
