So far it's working. My son asked if it works on insects and there is an insect setting.

It looks like it's working. I don't see those stray cats try get shades in my front porch and drink from my water fountain. The motion sensors works even you at least 20ft away. The sound is not as irritating to my ears but works for the target animals.
So far it seems to be doing it job.

Once I put it up, all the birds went crazy the first day then were gone by the second. I am only using the ultrasonic mode. I think I may buy another one for the other side of my house just to make sure I take care of all the birds.
