You'll be surprised how much you will like it!

As a Marine Corps veteran, I was biting my fingernails as I waited to get this bottle in the mail. I figured for the price it could be a winner or it could be a dud. It's definitely a 5 star winner! It doesn't leak, it's very simplistic and the curvature is the ideal shape for carrying it on your hip or placing it inside your pack (it curves with your back) where it stays cold, or even gets cooler, for a longer period of time. I like that it's large and the shape makes it more practical that a round bottle. It's easy to hold while drinking and the bottom part is textured for better gripping.

My favorite part about it is the size of the opening. It's not like these ridiculously sized wide mouthed openings where you can't drink and walk, and it's not a squeeze bottle where you get mediocre amounts per squeeze. You'll get more fluids faster than you can drink, which is the best of both worlds.

I have had several people that were in ground troops (Marines, army and some Navy) stop me and wanted to see it due to its almost an exact look-alike as the ones we used in the field. It's definitely not the norm drinking bottle and a lot of civis' (civilians) admire it as well.
Lightweight and BPA free.

Good item. Fits the MOLLE military attachment. Potential buyers should know that this item is pretty lightweight and the plastic is relatively thin, slightly thicker than a plastic soft drink bottle. However it is sturdy and appears to be durable. It is an excellent alternative to the plastic military issue water canteen.
A beautiful, simple bottle indeed.

I own literally every color of Nalgene 32 oz. Tritan Widemouth water bottles they sell on here. I own the 48 oz. bottles, and the little baby sized bottles too. I love Nalgene products, mainly for their form and function both being top notch. After I saw these Nalgene Oasis canteens, I bought one, then bought every other color they made. Here's a few reasons why and topics to focus on:

Quality - If you're expecting that rock solid Tritan build quality that can be run over with a car and still survive, you'll be let down. Tone those expectations down a little bit, and just go for good quality plastic. It doesn't cave in or anything like that. In fact, it's probably just a single tick down from the Tritan quality. It's got this cool, frosted, glossy design and that gives it a super Earthy feel to it. Plastic cap too. I pushed mine down below the bottom lip somot didn't spin so freely. I understand that it's standard G.I. size, but I wouldn't know that myself, but some of my buddies have confirmed. Then the jokes of it not having the odor they're used to poured in, but again, I wouldn't know.

Functionality - With my 32 oz wide mouth bottles, they actually take up quite a bit of space. The Oasis bottle has the same 32oz. of water, but not nearly as bulky. The plastic is thicker than these canteens, so it makes sense. Plus, they're just different shapes, so that is another factor. The Oasis bottle is affected by the room temperature easier than the Tritan wide mouth bottles. Again, thinner plastic. I do like that this bottle is easier to drink large amounts of water without it splashing all over your mouth, and without the use of a special mouth piece.

Value - I think I paid $10 or less for this bottle, but the fact that I use it every day, it's replaced dozens of 16.9 oz. water bottles (that I'd probably buy if I didn't have this bottle with me), it's easily paid for itself already. It doesn't have any bells or whistles and it's not double wall vacuum sealed, but it's not supposed to be that. It's simplistic and I think the color is really awesome as well. so I enjoy it that much more.
I love the clear bottle so I can see how much ...

This was exactly what I was looking for. I'm in the Army and I despise drinking out if the GI canteens. I love the clear bottle so I can see how much water I have and the foliage green looks outstanding. BPA is also a plus.
for it is the best canteen, for me

Part of my "Apocalypse Gear" as it may be said, for it is the best canteen, for me, in the world. As a US Marine for 9 years in the Infantry, 4 years as a US Park Ranger--Alaska, and a Game Ranger in South Africa--two or three of these Nalgene canteens set you up for success during tough times in the field with zero water for awhile. So, if all I got is three of these Oasis bottles around my belt, I monitor the water level, which must be spared to get to my next water hole. The taste must be sweet, satisfying and this canteen doesn't have that plastic taste for my hard work to fill it back up again. Get it, buy it, use it! Made in the USA!
