affordable back up for higher quality feed
Sarah CollverJanuary 6, 2018
this worked great as a back up for the regular food when i could not afford to spend $20 for it, they like it, but they like their regular pennington better. I always try to offer a variety though and it is good to have an affordable back up when money is tight.
Few raisins or oranges
Connie (She who hikes with dogs)December 1, 2016
I have to agree with others who posted that there were few raisins or oranges in this package. They ARE in the mix, though, and that became obvious to me when it rained overnight and the dehydrated raisins and oranges expanded. The nuts I saw were pieces of nuts for easier grabbing. I saw mostly millet and small sunflower seeds.

The bag is big enough for two bird baths full of seed. I opened the bag on the first day of our cold front, and birds in the area attacked the seeds. They went for the sunflowers first, but the millet was also taken.

I'd easily rate this five stars if there were a decent amount of orange or raisins in this mix, as the price is decent for what you actually get. Oddly the birds didn't eat the raisins or oranges anyway.
Not what I was expecting

Very few raisins and I don't know where the Orange is at all. Huge amount of white millet (first ingredient listed on the bag). The birds around here don't seem to like the millet. Not worth the price. I purchased this to attract fruit eating birds, that has not happened. Will not buy again

too much filler birds won't eat it.
Nothing but a Bag of White Millet!
Mary Jo SminkeyApril 9, 2016
WARNING, this is NOT the well-known Wagners brand of bird food and clearly a copycat product of much lesser value - it's fairly obvious from the very different design of the product, although they are using some photos from authentic Wagners packaging to advertise their product, namely the chart of birds to use the food for, which is not from their packaging at all). I expect a good number of the reviews here thought they were reviewing the real Wagners product as this product is very sub-par. It certainly is NOT a premium seed at all, the bag is almost entirely white millet, a cheap filler seed that most birds ignore. There's a tiny amount of sunflower seeds, and even fewer sunflower hulls and so few of anything else it's comical they are even included in the ingredient list. I looked and looked and couldn't find a single peanut or raisin at all. The "orange" appears to be just an artificial color applied to some of the few safflower seeds in the bag. Very very overpriced for what is essentially a bag of white millet with a handful of sunflower seeds throw in. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS!
